Joe Chealey scored 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting (1-of-2 3-pointers) to go along with three assists and two rebounds as the Utah Jazz Blue lost 104-65 to the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night.
Chealey was one of two Jazz players to score in double figures along with Justin Patton who scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds with three blocks in 20 minutes for the Jazz Blue squad. That was as good as it got for Utah on Tuesday. They will be back in action Wednesday night from Vivint Arena.

The Hornets announced on Tuesday that the team has signed guard Joe Chealey to a second 10-day contract.
The 6-3 guard has appeared in two games with the Hornets and has made 34 appearances with the Swarm this season. Chealey is averaging 11.3 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.2 rebounds in 28.3 minutes per game in the G League. He could see some backup PG minutes tonight with Devonte’ Graham unavailable, but we wouldn’t expect much from him.

The Hornets are signing G Joe Chealey to a 10-day contract.
Chealey signed a non-guaranteed deal with the Hornets back in the offseason but was waived in October. He’s spent the year with Charlotte’s G League affiliate. He should be left on waivers.

Joe Chealey has been waived by the Hornets.
Chealey will likely end up in the G-League after spending last season with the Hornets’ affiliate.

Joe Chealey missed Thursday’s practice due to a sprained right ankle.
Two players were on the Hornets’ injury report due to sprained right ankles, with the other being rookie guardCody Martin. Unlike Chealey, Martin was able to participate in most of Thursday’s practice according to the team. Both players are more likely to be on the roster of the franchise’s G-League affiliate in Greensboro than on the Hornets’ 15-man roster when the NBA season begins.

General Manager Mitch Kupchak announced Tuesday that Charlotte has re-signed Joe Chealey.
Chealey appeared in 43 games for Charlotte’s G League affiliate last season, posting averages of 16.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 5.4 assists. He appeared in one game for the Hornets, scoring two points in eight minutes.

Joe Chealey has been recalled by the Hornets from their G-League affiliate ahead of Monday’s game against the Knicks.
Chealey has yet to appear in an NBA game this season. This move could mean that Kemba Walker (neck) will miss Monday’s game, but it’s likely just a procedural move to have Chealey practice with the team on Sunday. He is miles from the fantasy radar.
