Georgetown PF/C Jessie Govan has accepted an invitation to play in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament.
Govan (6'10/255) is coming off of a senior season in which he averaged 17.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.4 three-pointers per game with shooting splits of 49.6/41.2/76.6. Playing for Patrick Ewing the New York City native also accounted for 1.2 blocks per game, and he was a first team All-Big East selection. Govan’s ability to step away from the basket as a pick-and-pop big gives him added value as a pro prospect, but as of right now he’s projected to be an undrafted free agent. A good showing in Portsmouth could open the door to, at the very least, an invitation to the NBA Draft Combine.
