Beasley was cut loose by the Pirates this week as they needed to free up spots on the club’s 40-man roster. The 26-year-old hurler holds a 5.84 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 33/14 K/BB ratio across 24 2/3 innings in his big league career.

Beasley was jettisoned from the Pirates’ 40-man roster earlier this week and released just before Friday’s non-tender deadline. The 26-year-old right-hander made nine relief appearances last year for the Blue Jays before being acquired at the trade deadline by Pittsburgh. He should be able to latch on somewhere this offseason as organizational relief depth on a minor league contract.

Beasley was acquired from the Blue Jays back in August for cash considerations, but he never made it up to the big leagues. The 26-year-old hurler appeared in nine games for the Blue Jays during the 2022 season -- posting a 4.80 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 19/5 K/BB ratio over 15 innings.

Beasley had pitched to a 4.80 ERA through 15 innings of relief this season for Toronto. He’ll report for now to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Yusei Kikuchi (neck) has been activated off the IL in a corresponding move and will start Thursday night against the Tigers. Beasley, 26, has posted a 4.80 ERA in 15 innings of relief this season at the MLB level.

Beasley has posted an underwhelming 6.30 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 13/3 K/BB ratio across 10 innings (six appearances) this season at the major-league level. The 26-year-old righty will bolster Toronto’s bullpen depth heading into their final two contests before the All-Star break.

Beasley has oscillated between the Blue Jays’ bullpen and Triple-A Buffalo over the last few weeks and has compiled a serviceable 6.30 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 13/3 K/BB ratio across 10 innings (six appearances) this season at the major-league level. The 26-year-old righty should be back at some point in the near future.

With Yimi Garcia (back) hitting the injured list on Friday, Beasley gets another chance to work out of the big league bullpen. He has compiled a 6.43 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 10/2 K/BB ratio over seven innings with the Jays this season.

Beasley was needed for three innings in relief Thursday, so he’s being sent out in order to bring in a fresh arm.

Beasley has been brought back from Triple-A Buffalo to replace an injured Julian Merryweather (abdomen) in the Blue Jays’ bullpen. The 26-year-old righty has allowed three runs over four innings with a 5/1 K/BB ratio across three appearances this season at the major-league level.
