Jason Martin hit a game-tying three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth Thursday against the Mariners.
The Rangers ended up losing in 11 innings anyway, but it’s still the biggest hit of Martin’s career. He has four homers in 100 at-bats for the Rangers. The problem is that he has just 12 other hits, leaving him with a .160 average. The Rangers might as well keep playing him, but he’s facing an uphill battle to emerge as part of the team’s plans for 2022.
