Jaguars CB Jarrian Jones (shoulder) is questionable to return to Monday Night Football against the Bills.
Jones hurt his shoulder on the first drive of the game. If he’s unable to return, it would be a big loss for the Jaguars. Jones is their starting slot cornerback, and the team is already without starting cornerback Tyson Campbell and starting safety Darnell Savage. That makes things tough against Josh Allen and the Bills.

Jaguars selected Florida State CB Jarrian Jones with the No. 96 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Jones (6’0/190) has a non-stop motor and competitive nature that just doesn’t quit until the final whistle. Initially attended Mississippi State until he was pressured to move to safety, causing him to seek a transfer after his freshman season. He possesses notable ball-hawking abilities with 11 pass breakups and four interceptions over the last two seasons, peaking with an 87th-percentile cover grade last year. His timing and anticipation at the catch point are top-tier, as he didn’t allow a single coverage touchdown in back-to-back seasons for Florida State. Jones has a willingness to get down and dirty in the run support as well, with 12 run stops in 2023, but will need to improve his unsightly 19 percent missed tackle rate over the last two seasons. A workout warrior, Jones ran a 4.38s 40-yard dash and posted a 39.5-inch vertical on his way to a scorching 9.61 RAS. He has decent footwork but could use some polish as he struggles at times with change of direction relying on his speed more often than not. A Florida State team leader who received the Bobby Bowden Leadership award in 2023, Jones brings positional versatility as he can play outside or in the nickel, which is where he transitioned to in 2023.

Florida State sophomore DB Jarrian Jones was granted an eligibility waiver from the NCAA.
Jones (6'1/180) appeared to be on his way from Mississippi State to Ole Miss after entering the portal in May, going so far as to announce that pledge, but he backed off the Rebs in favor of the Seminoles at the beginning of June. A former four-star recruit, Jones played in 11 games with the Bulldogs as a true freshman last season, notching 12 tackles and two passes defensed. He’ll serve as a nice depth addition to the Seminoles’ roster now that he’s immediately eligible for the fall campaign.

Former Mississippi State sophomore DB Jarrian Jones transferred to Florida State.
Jones (6'1/180) entered the transfer portal in mid-May and subsequently announced a commitment to Ole Miss, but he didn’t ultimately sign with the program and on Saturday passed along a new plan -- onward to Florida State. The former four-star recruit played in 11 games as a true freshman with Mississippi State in 2019, logging 12 tackles and a pair of passes defensed in that space. While Jones will have to sit out the 2020 campaign barring an eligibility waiver, this makes for a strong transfer get for the Seminoles, particularly given that they were able to convince the Brandon, Mississippi, native to pull up roots on his home state.

Former Mississippi State sophomore DB Jarrian Jones transferred to Ole Miss.
Always fun when you see players transfer to rivals. Jones was a four-star defensive back who appeared in 11 games for Mississippi State as a freshman last year, and he was credited with two passes defensed and 12 tackles. The question now will be if the 6-foot-1, 180-pound defender will be eligible to play in 2020, as he’ll need a waiver to get that immediate eligibility for Mississippi in 2020. If he doesn’t, he can count this fall as a redshirt campaign with three years of eligibility remaining starting in 2021.

Multiple outlets are reporting that Mississippi State sophomore DB Jarrian Jones entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Jones (6'1/180) heads to the portal even after seeing real playing time as a true freshman. The four-star signee appeared in 11games for the Bulldogs last fall -- making one start in that space -- while recording 12 tackles with two passes defensed. Despite this nice little start to his collegiate career, he’s apparently unsettled in Starkville. Should Jones go through with an FBS transfer, NCAA regulations would require him to sit out the 2020 campaign barring an eligibility waiver. His likely loss is a stinger for HC Mike Leach and staff, as Jones very much was going to be in contention to start in 2020 prior to this news.

Oklahoma received a verbal commitment from four-star 2019 S Jarrian Jones.
Jones was believed to be down to Mississippi State and Oklahoma, and the Sooners are able to get the verbal. It’s just another big get for the Sooners, who have had five players commit in the last three days -- four of them four-stars or higher. He ranks as the 14th best safety in the class to 247 Sports, and the 12th best player in the state of Mississippi.
