Braves re-signed INF Jalen Miller to a minor-league contract.
Miller, a former third-round pick back in 2015, was plucked from the Giants’ minor-league system in the Rule 5 Draft last offseason. The 24-year-old infielder will give the Braves some additional middle infield depth in the upper-minors next season.

Braves selected INF Jalen Miller from the Giants in the Triple-A Phase of the Rule 5 Draft.
Miller, 23, was a third-round pick by the Giants in the 2015 MLB Draft. The infielder showed the makings of a decent power/speed combination as a prep, but just hasn’t put it together at all with a career slash of .235/.291/.352 in 531 minor league games.

Giants 2B prospect Jalen Miller went 2-for-2 in a 0-0 tie with the Rangers on Saturday in the Cactus League.
Can’t say we’ve seen too many scoreless ties in either league. Miller was a third-round pick by the Giants in 2015, and he hit 14 homers while stealing 11 bases for the High-A San Jose Giants last year. He’s an excellent athlete, but he struggled with plate discipline, and his hit-tool profiles well below-average at this point. Because of his athleticism and likelihood of staying up the middle on the infield, however, he’s worth taking a look at in deeper dynasty formats.
