Titans selected Sacramento State OG Jackson Slater with the No. 167 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
We’ve seen plenty of small school offensive lineman get drafted. Most recently, Quinn Meinerz from Wisconsin-Whitewater. Meinerz was a third-round selection by the Denver Broncos in 2021. Plus, he was recently extended, and is now one of the highest paid guards in the NFL. Slater (6'3/311) is another small school guy from Sacramento State. He finished his career with 44 starts for the Hornets. He stands out as a pass blocker, posting an 88.2 PFF grade in 2024. As a pass blocker, Slater is quick. He plays with good pad level, and has good vision on the inside. However, there are times where he struggles to pick up his blocks on quick opponents. As a run blocker, Slater posted a 72.9 PFF grade in 2024. He shows good upper body strength and his quick off the ball. However, he is a bit inconsistent with his pad level. Overall, Slater does have some tools to fix. However, he has the potential to be a productive starter in the NFL for many teams.
