  • FA Quarterback
J.P. Losman, out with a broken leg, will take an MRI this week.
He’s reportedly ahead of schedule on his recovery. Original estimates had him returning in late October/Early November at the earliest. Losman could get a few late season starts if the Bills stay in the tank.
  • FA Quarterback
The Bills reported that quarterback J.P. Losman’s surgery was successful and went as expected, with a plate attached to the broken fibula.
Losman is expected back in eight-to-12 weeks. The Bills would like to keep him on the active roster and have him available for the second half of the year.
  • FA Quarterback
J.P. Losman could return to Bills practice today.
If the Buffalo season continues as is, we’d expect Losman to start games by the end of the season.
  • FA Quarterback
J.P. Losman threw on seven-on-seven drills at Bills practice today.
He’s out for this week, but the rookie appears closer to being able to fully practice.
  • FA Quarterback
Bills owner Ralph Wilson spoke publicly of possibly starting J.P. Losman next season.
Very interesting. Both the GM and owner have spoken of possibly making Losman the starter before training camp even starts. Ben Roethlisberger’s success was mentioned by the Bills owner.
  • FA Quarterback
ESPN.com’s Len Pasquarelli reports the Bills have ''essentially’’ decided to make J.P. Losman their starting quarterback next season.
Losman has already reported back to Buffalo for offseason workouts and knows of the decision. It’s a gusty move by the Bills. Losman has all the tools: a huge arm and leadership ability. His performance in college, however, was inconsistent. We don’t see him being a fantasy factor in re-draft leagues yet.
  • FA Quarterback
J.P. Losman finished five of five for 55 yards with 37 yards rushing in his preseason debut.
Losman led Buffalo to two field goals in only possession. While he won’t start this season, Losman’s running ability makes him an intriguing fantasy QB for the future.
  • FA Quarterback
J.P. Losman completed 11-of-19 passes for 88 yards and a touchdown in his first preseason game.
His game was shakier than the stats indicate. The Bills didn’t score in their first four possessions against Indy’s first team. Losman’s longest completion was on a tipped pass. He also lost a fumble.
  • FA Quarterback
J.P. Losman impressed him teammates during Friday night’s scrimmage against the Packers.
''He handled things well,’' running back Willis McGahee said. ''I’m no expert on quarterbacks, but he sure looked good to me. He didn’t seem nervous. That’s a great sign. He’s got his confidence and he knows we have his back.’'
  • FA Quarterback
Bills coach Mike Mularkey said QB J.P. Losman will play into the second quarter against the Colts on Saturday.
Losman will get a ton of playing time in the preseason, but the coaching staff will also be cautious to avoid an injury. How much will he play? ''As long as it takes to feel comfortable,’' Mularkey said. ''I don’t want to play an extra amount if I’m doing fine just because I’m young. The coaches will know best.’'
