Packers DE Ryan Pickett suffered a foot sprain in the second half of Sunday’s win over the Panthers and didn’t return.
The Packers offered no details on Pickett’s injury following the game. Veteran Howard Green will have to step up if Pickett misses time.
  • FA Defensive Lineman
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel expects the Packers’ “first order of business” this offseason to be finding pass rushers.
Dom Capers got no backfield penetration from the right end rotation of Howard Green, C.J. Wilson, Jarius Wynn, and Mike Neal or the right outside linebacker rotation of Erik Walden, Frank Zombo, and Brad Jones. Green and Walden will likely be allowed to walk as free agents. Safety and cornerback are also areas of need.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #90
The Packers are going to consider limiting DT B.J. Raji’s snaps throughout the rest of the season in preparation for the playoffs.
“B.J.'s played too much to this point,” coach Mike McCarthy said. “We’ve got to watch his numbers.” The Packers started subbing Raji out more in Week 10 and Howard Green was the recipient of extra snaps. Of course, this will do nothing to dispel the premature concern that the Packers start resting skill position players, too.
  • FA Defensive Lineman
    Seahawks signed DT Howard Green.
Green, who was with the Vikings in training camp, has not played in the regular season since 2004. He was added following the season-ending knee injury to DL Chuck Darby. Rookie Brandon Mebane will start at nose tackle in place of Darby.
  • FA Defensive Lineman
    Jets re-signed DT Howard Green.
Green was just released over the weekend, but he’s needed for depth up front after the loss of Kris Jenkins (torn ACL).
  • FA Defensive Lineman
    Jets released DT Howard Green.
Green was cut to make room for Danny Woodhead. He could end up back on the squad once Jerricho Cotchery and Brad Smith get healthy.
  • NE Linebacker
The Jets failed to tender OLB Marques Murrell, WR Wallace Wright, and NT Howard Green, making them unrestricted free agents.
Murrell got the short end of the stick playing behind Vernon Gholston. For about three years we heard stories of Wright tearing up training camp and that he “might have an increased role” for the coming season, but it never happened. The Jets could sign these players back for minimum salaries.
  • FA Defensive Lineman
The Redskins are hosting free agent DT Howard Green on Wednesday.
Green, 31, has experience playing nose in a 3-4 defense like the one the Skins are installing, but is backup-caliber. Washington is making contingency plans in case a taker for Albert Haynesworth is found on draft weekend.
  • FA Defensive Lineman
Redskins signed NT Howard Green to a one-year contract.
The Skins are stockpiling wide bodies as they move to a 3-4 scheme. Green, who goes 6-foot-2 and 320 pounds, turned 31 in January. He dressed for 12 games with the Jets last season and recorded 23 tackles with no sacks.
  • FA Defensive Lineman
The Jets have shown interest in free agent DT Howard Green.
Green, who would play nose in Rex Ryan’s 3-4 scheme, is listed at 6'2/320. He won’t return to Seattle, which is installing more of a one-gap system.
