Dodgers signed RHP Hansel Robles to a minor league contract.
The Red Sox cut Robles loose earlier this month after he posted a 5.84 ERA over 26 relief appearances for them. He was pretty good in the second half last year, though, and is worth a flier on a minor league pact.

Red Sox released RHP Hansel Robles.
Robles was designated for assignment earlier this week and the two sides are officially parting ways. The 31-year-old righty was effective for a stretch last year after being acquired in a trade from the Twins, but fizzled out in the postseason and went on to register a disastrous 5.84 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 21/14 K/BB ratio across 24 2/3 innings (26 appearances) this season. There’s a chance he latches on somewhere else, but it’ll likely be on a minor league contract.

Red Sox designated RHP Hansel Robles for assignment.
This move officially clears out a 40-man roster spot for Brayan Bello, who is scheduled to make his MLB debut in a start Wednesday against the Rays. Robles allowed one earned run on a hit and two walks in a one-inning relief appearance Tuesday night versus Tampa Bay. He will now slide into DFA limbo having registered an overall 5.84 ERA across 26 total appearances this season with Boston.

Hansel Robles allowed a game-tying single and a game-winning single to the two batters he faced to blow a save Tuesday in Toronto.
The Red Sox were without unvaccinated closer Tanner Houck as the held a precarious one-run lead in the ninth with the heart of the Blue Jays order due up. Tyler Danish started the ninth after a 1-2-3 eighth but was pulled in favor of Robles following a single and a walk. Robles surrendered a first-pitch RBI single to Bo Bichette and then Vladimir Guerrero Jr. swatted a slider for a walk-off single. It was a predictable ending.

Tanner Houck remains unvaccinated and, thus, won’t be able to travel with the Red Sox to Toronto next week.
He missed the series in Toronto back in late April and is set to miss another one, it appears. It’s certainly notable for fantasy managers as Houck has ascended to the top of the Red Sox’ saves pecking order recently. Hansel Robles, Jake Diekman, Matt Strahm and John Schreiber would be some options to close when Houck is away.

Hansel Robles allowed two runs in 2/3 of an inning Saturday in a blown save and a loss to the Mariners.
Robles was tasked with getting the final three outs and given a one-run cushion to play with. He did not succeed. The right-hander gave up three hits, including a game-tying bloop single by Abraham Toro, and a line-drive hit that would have been a double by Dylan Moore if there was any reason for Moore to keep running. It’s the fourth time that Robles has finished with a blown save, and it sees his ERA raise to 3.23. This closer situation is untenable.

Red Sox activated RHP Hansel Robles off the 15-day injured list.
Robles is back after a short rehab stint. The right-hander was placed on the injured list retroactive to May 25 with back spasms, and comes off the IL shortly after it was possible. He’ll operate in the late innings with Boston, and Phillips Valdez was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Hansel Robles (back) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Wednesday with Triple-A Worcester.
Robles landed on the injured list in late May due to back spasms and is expected to make just one appearance for the WooSox on Wednesday, due to a rainout on Tuesday, before rejoining the Red Sox’ bullpen in time for Thursday’s series finale against the Angels in Los Angeles. The 31-year-old righty reliever holds a strong 2.65 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 11/6 K/BB ratio across 17 innings (16 appearances) this season. He should factor back into Boston’s rather bizarre closer committee later this week.

Hansel Robles (back) is scheduled to make a minor league rehab appearance Tuesday for Triple-A Worcester.
Robles threw a live batting practice session Saturday and will get an appearance in with Triple-A Worcester before rejoining the Red Sox’ bullpen Thursday against the Angels. The 31-year-old righty landed on the 15-day injured list last weekend with back spasms.

Red Sox placed RHP Hansel Robles on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to May 25, with back spasms.
It doesn’t sound like a serious concern, but with the Red Sox staring down Saturday’s doubleheader against the Orioles, the club needed to clear some room to bring in additional bullpen help. The 31-year-old righty has recorded a solid 2.65 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 11/6 K/BB ratio across 17 innings (16 appearances) this season.
