HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – On Sept. 6, 2012, Tucker Anderson, the son of longtime PGA Tour swing coach and 2012 PGA Teacher of the Year Todd Anderson, was involved in a horrific car crash that required months of intensive care and therapy.
Next month, Todd Anderson plans to begin a campaign to help families in similar situations that may not have the means to afford the care required after a catastrophic accident.
Anderson plans to host a pro-am on May 6 on the Seaside course at Sea Island (Ga.) Resort that will include high-profile swing coaches Butch Harmon and Sean Foley and will raise money for a foundation created to help families that have been impacted by similar accidents.
“The overwhelming support of friends and family made us want to help those under similar circumstances that may not have had the network of friends we had,” Anderson said.
The foundation also plans to hold an “Hour for Tucker” event on May 6 that will encourage PGA of America teaching professionals to donate a portion of the proceeds from one lesson to Tucker’s foundation. For more information, go to www.TA4life.org.
