The Symetra Tour announced its 15-tournament schedule Tuesday, including four inaugural events and three new sponsors.
The season will begin in two weeks at the $100,000 VisitMesa.com Gateway Classic at Longbow Golf Course in Mesa, Ariz. The winner of the event will also receive an exemption into the first domestic event on the LPGA schedule, the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup, which will be played in nearby Phoenix.
The Symetra Tour Championship, to be held Sept. 26-29 at LPGA International’s Champions Course, has moved from a 54- to 72-hole event.
The top 10 players on the money list at season’s end will receive LPGA tour cards for the following season. Among the players who began on the Symetra circuit include Lorena Ochoa, Inbee Park and Vicky Hurst.
