Scott Piercy is a winner in consecutive seasons on the PGA Tour.
Closing with a 3-under 67 at Hamilton Golf & Country Club, Piercy won the RBC Canadian Open for his second career victory. His 17-under total was one better than the final pair of Robert Garrigus and William McGirt. Garrigus had a 14-foot birdie putt to secure a playoff with Piercy, but left it just short. McGirt bogeyed the final two holes to cede the lead and the win.
Piercy won the Reno-Tahoe Open a year ago and, with the victory, will not defend the title next week in Nevada. Instead, he has earned a berth into the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in Ohio.
Josh Teater, Bud Cauley and Chris Kirk finished in a tie for fourth place at 14 under par.
A trio finished tied for seventh at 12 under, including Vijay Singh, Bo Van Pelt and Scott Stallings, last week’s winner of the True South Classic.
