Jack Nicklaus, of Columbus, Ohio, looks grim after making a shot here May 14th during a practice session for the Walker Cup golf competition. On May 16th, the American Amateur Golfers trounced Britain’s best to win the Walker Cup for the 16th time in 17 meetings. The victory was clinched by Ward Wettlaufer, of Buffalo, N.Y.

Palmer following Nicklaus tried with a 283 with the 22-year-old Columbus lad. A playoff will be 6/17 between Palmer and Nicklaus.
