The PGA Tour announced today that San Francisco’s Harding Park Golf Course has joined the Tournament Players Club network under the new name, TPC Harding Park. The announcement was made during a press conference held at the facility, which is hosting this week’s Champions Tour Charles Schwab Cup Championship.
Under terms of the 9.5-year agreement, the course will remain under the ownership of the City of San Francisco but will be operated by PGA Tour Golf Course Properties for no management fee. Harding Park will retain all greens fees and benefit from the network’s marketing and course maintenance expertise.
“Harding Park truly is one of the country’s great municipal golf facilities and has been a terrific host site for the 2005 World Golf Championships-American Express Championship, last year’s Presidents Cup and now the Charles Schwab Cup Championship,” said PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem. “We look forward to a wonderful long-term partnership with the City of San Francisco at TPC Harding Park.”
There are now 32 facilities in the TPC network, 13 of which are open to the public.
