The Cardinal have burst back onto the scene this season, after a decade of being away from national prominence. Former Stanford player Conrad Ray returned to his alma mater three years ago, and has quickly restored the program to one of the nations elite.
Coastal Carolina finshed late on Wednesday, but that didnt stop the Chanticleers from shooting 3 under par as they currently sit in second place.
Florida, Minnesota and Texas are all tied for third and reside just 3 behind Stanford.
Indivdually, Rob Grube lit up Colonial Williamsburg with a 64. The Stanford junior is two clear of Florida freshman Tim Mckenney.
The consensus is this layout, while not long, is demanding but fair. A word to the wise, keep it out of the rough.
Round two kicks off on thursday morning.
