Retief Goosen’s victory at the Transitions Championship on Sunday moved him back into the top 25 in this week’s world golf rankings.
Goosen, a two-time U.S. Open champion, jumped from 39th to 22nd in this week’s rankings.
Tiger Woods remained first, although his lead is only .2 average points over Phil Mickelson. Sergio Garcia is in striking distance for No. 1 as well. Geoff Ogilvy and Padraig Harrington rounded out the top five.
Vijay Singh and Camilo Villegas stayed sixth and seventh, respectively. Robert Karlsson and Henrik Stenson each climbed one place, while Kenny Perry dropped two to 10th.
Steve Stricker tied for fourth on Sunday and shot up four spots to 11th. Paul Casey is 12th, up one from last week, while Jim Furyk slipped two to No. 13. Anthony Kim fell two to 14 and Lee Westwood sank one spot to 15th.
Ernie Els, Rory McIlroy, Stewart Cink and Mike Weir all held their places from last week. Martin Kaymer rose three to 20th. Adam Scott fell out of the top 20.
