-Drive it straight and long: 2011 winner Martin Laird and 2010 winner Ernie Els both finished 4th in the field in Total Driving. Both were also Top 10 in Ball Striking for the week.
-Lag putting is key: On the 2011 PGA TOUR, Bay Hill had the highest proximity to the hole from the fairway (36’8”) and 3rd highest overall proximity to the hole (39’0”)
-Champions finish strong: 3 of the past 4 winners have not only played the final 3 holes at Bay Hill under par but bogey-free for the entire week. Last year Martin Laird played the final 3 holes in 4-under for the week. Despite the 18th being one of the most difficult closing holes on the PGA TOUR, no champion has played the hole over par for the week since Chad Campbell in 2004.
