CHARLOTTE, N.C. – I went 16 1/2 holes with Tiger Woods today. Actually I felt privileged in one sense in that I was the first on-course commentator to walk with him since his drastic fall from grace. I honestly felt that once Tiger got inside the ropes he would be his sanctuary – that he would be comfortable and possibly even have fun.
Not true.
Tiger never look comfortable, either over the ball, or between shots. And he definitely wasn’t enjoying himself. During commercial, our on-air team bantered about Tiger often, and the consensus was simply, Tiger’s not in a good place right now.
Obvious? Yes. Understandable? Yes. Bothersome to the rest of us? Once again – definitely.
