PARAMUS, N.J. – Looking forward to following Cameron Beckman and Troy Matteson today. They’re going off in the first group of the afternoon so the crowds should be small. Both need a good round to make the cut and given their current position on the FedEx Cup points list, they need to make the cut in order to play next week.
Players were grouped this week based on their current FedEx rankings.
Update: Oops, forgot to check, the third member of the group also needs a good week to advance. So much for small crowds. Can’t wait to watch Tiger Woods’ swing in person just to see if the quick recent changes look as good as they did on TV Thursday. Toughest question to answer Friday is, what will Tiger shoot? Is he all better or did he just find a temporary fix? Will he pull out to a good sized lead as we’re so accustomed to seeing in past years or will he struggle off the tee and start missing those putts that were once automatic?
Should be interesting. Tune it starting at 2:30 p.m. ET as Rich Lerner and Brandel Chamblee will catch you up to speed with his round that begins at 12:10 p.m. I’ll get him for the final seven or eight holes of his round during our live coverage.
