A plane landing on a golf course isn’t totally unheard of. A plane crashing on a golf course - and everyone being largely OK - that’s a little more unique.
Two men somehow survived Saturday after their single-engine Cessna crash landed at Valley View Golf Course in Layton, Utah.
According to a report from KSL.com, the plane clipped trees by the driving range before coming to rest, upside down, in a bunker on the practice chipping green.
“The one guy we helped get out, the passenger, he seemed to be pretty OK. The pilot was a little bit more in pain and kind of pinned,” Valley View head pro Dustin Volk said. “He had blood coming from his head. We got him unbuckled and waited for the ambulance.”
The pilot was reportedly treated at the scene while the passenger was taken to the hospital in “fair condition.”
“It was extremely lucky that no patrons at this golf course sustained injuries due to the many patrons at this course [Saturday],” Layton City Fire Public Information Officer Doug Bitton told KUTV 2. “The course also neighbors homes to the south on Gentile Street that could have been involved.”
Now that everyone is OK, Nicky Santoro will hand out $100 dollars to whoever hits the plane.
