No wonder Rory’s gotten better with this gym routine

Rory McIlroy’s affinity for the gym is no secret. Heck, even Tom Brady and Peyton Manning know about it.

Still this video from Nike Training sheds a little light on exactly how the world’s No. 1 golfer has transformed his body in recent years. While he was never on his way to becoming Kevin Stadler, the Northern Irishman has certainly done enough to take the proverbial quotation marks off the title of professional “athlete” that has become associated with some on the PGA Tour.

And it’s not hard to see why after watching his routine. He says that he used to not be able to stand on one leg for more than 10 seconds and he couldn’t hold a plank for more than half a minute.

Now he’s lifting things up and putting them down so easily that he wouldn’t be allowed in a Planet Fitness, working on his core by balancing on a stability ball and generally longing to spend more time in the gym. A scary thought for those chasing him in the world rankings.
