With all the golf, even Spurrier wonders how he won so much

Steve Spurrier went 122-27-1 in 12 seasons as head football coach at the University of Florida.

Given his affinity for relaxation – on a golf course or at the beach – as opposed to long hours in his office, even he is amazed at his success.

Spurrier abruptly retired from coaching at South Carolina last year and returned to his alma mater, Florida, and now serves as a university ambassador and consultant. He made the golf comments on Thursday during a live radio show.

The 71-year-old, who is in the college football Hall of Fame as a player and is currently on the ballot to be inducted as a coach, was on “Feherty” last year. He talks about his swing in the video below. Click here for more of the Head Ball Coach on “Feherty.”
