Richard S. Johnson, who normally plays the PGA Tour, did not qualify for the Open Championship but hopped a plane anyway to compete in the Nordea Scandinavian Masters in his home country of Sweden.
Johnson grabbed a local friend to caddy for him around Bro Hof Slott. Anders Timmell, a DJ in Stockholm who looks like a member of ABBA, is on the bag replacing Johnson’s regular caddy Lance Ten Broeck. Lance gave up his regular gig to compete in the Senior Open Championship.
Unfortunately for Ten Broeck he missed the cut at Carnoustie. He will also miss a significant percentage check this week from Johnson who is playing his best golf of the year this week.
