Lagardère Unlimited announced Thursday its acquisition of Arizona-based Gaylord Sports Management.

”The addition of Gaylord Sports Management immediately ranks us among the leaders in professional golf representation and gives us an important footprint in baseball as we continue to grow,” said Kevin O’Connor, Lagardère Unlimited chief operating officer in North and South America, in a release. “It should go without saying that we are thrilled to be working with Steve [Loy], his team and their clients.’

Lagardère picks up a company which boasts Phil Mickelson, Keegan Bradley, Nick Watney, Nick Faldo, Angela Stanford and Anna Nordqvist as golf clients.

Lagardère also will increase its presence in the golf course design business.

Under the terms of the acquisition, Steve Loy, who founded Gaylord in 2000, has been named president of Lagardère Golf.

‘Lagardère Unlimited is a worldwide leader in player representation, marketing and consulting, so we’re delighted to bring our extensive experience and world-class athletes into the group,’ Loy said.

Baseball players Dan Uggla and Bronson Arroyo, as well as football player Nate Burleson are among those who now also fall under the Lagardère umbrella.

Lagardère already represented eight golfers, including Arjun Atwal and Daniel Chopra, as well as a number of high-profile athletes, including Andy Roddick and Reggie Bush.
