Weekly Fix: Better posture equates to better results

Welcome back to Weekly Fix! I’m Tim Cooke and each week here on GolfChannel.com we’re taking a closer look at your swings in hopes of helping you play better golf.

This week, we’re going to analyze Russell’s swing.

Russell does a lot of good things in his golf swing, but he has difficulty maintaining posture throughout his swing, an issue I see quite often on the lesson tee at Long Cove.

So in our video this week, with some help from the great Nick Price, we’re going to try to help Russell clean up his posture and become a more consistent ball-striker.

Popular golf instruction tips: Setup | Full Swing | Power | Accuracy

In summary, some of the ideas I would suggest that everyone take away from this week’s analysis would include the following:

• At address, you’d like to feel as if you have a neutral lower back and a flat tilt from the hips. This neutral position will help you turn back and through with more ease in your golf swing.

• The feeling that your body rotates around a tilted spine is a great thought to help you remain in your posture throughout your swing.

• If you tend to come out of your posture as you approach impact, a great drill to help you fix that issue is to hit shots with the ball below your feet, which will force you to stay down and through the shot better.

That’s it for this edition of Weekly Fix. Keep sending us your videos at WeeklyFix@GolfChannel.com, and we’ll be back with a new edition right here next week.
