Power Rankings A True Player

Here are GolfChannel.com’s Power Rankings, the top 10 favorites for The Players Championship:

	1	Luke Donald	Donald has finished no worse than T-10 in five starts since winning the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. The world No. 3 is trending heavily toward taking the No. 1 spot and this could be the week he does it.
	2	Phil Mickelson	Lefty showed a strong Sunday charge at Quail Hollow – on the front nine, at least – to finish T-9, which shows his game is close. But close for Phil means he can fully turn it on at any given notice, and if he flips the switch this week, he’ll be hard to catch.
	3	Bubba Watson	Watson’s lackluster T-48 in Charlotte was most likely a product of exhaustion from winning the week before in New Orleans. But with Bubba a bit more rested – if only mentally – his game is there and his creativity is just what the doctor ordered for a course like TPC Sawgrass.
	4	Jonathan Byrd	Byrd is perhaps one of the most underrated players in the game. Granted, he’s been inconsistent this year – missing four cuts in 11 starts – but his two wins since October are hard to deny and he nearly pulled off a third at Quail Hollow.
	5	Lucas Glover	Glover came out of nowhere to win the Wells Fargo, considering he was off of three straight missed cuts and no finish in 2011 better than T-20. But something clicked in Charlotte and he finished third in Ponte Vedra last year, so it’s a wise bet to fear the beard for another week.
	6	Matt Kuchar	This top-10 machine hit a slight lull with T-27 and T-21 in his last two starts. But merely by the statement, that’s saying something. A tough track like TPC Sawgrass is right up Kuch’s alley.
	7	Ben Crane	Crane finished T-4 at The Players last year and he’s playing well this year. If he’s not too busy shooting his next viral video sensation, expect a strong week from the methodical player.
	8	Bill Haas	Haas couldn’t miss in his first three events this year with no finish worse than T-9, and athough he saw a slight dip in his next eight starts, his solid T-4 at Quail Hollow says he’s back.
	9	Jim Furyk	It’s a home game for Furyk this week and even though he had a forgettable T-47 last year and has had a mediocre season thus far this year, the reigning FedEx Cup champ is poised to break out soon – and there’s 10 million reasons to believe he can.
	10	Francesco Molinari	The Italian garnered a ninth place finish at Sawgrass last year and after winning the WGC-HSBC Champions in November, he’s shown his game has grown to worldly proportions.
