CROMWELL, Conn. – Kevin Streelman picked a good time to have the hottest birdie streak of his career.

With birdies on each of the last seven holes, he came from behind to win the Travelers Championship by one stroke on Sunday.

When asked to list his previous high, he said, “I can’t even remember in a pro event more than four or five. Maybe I had six. I’d honestly have to look it up online or something to see, but definitely not seven.”

Well, he was right about part of that.

He’d never before had seven, but Streelman carded six in a row during the 2008 Children’s Miracle Network Classic.

He becomes the first player since 1980 to birdie the final seven holes for a win, but that feat will forever remain in the record book with an asterisk, because hole-by-hole scoring doesn’t go back any farther than that.
