With all due respect to former NBA All-Star point guard Allen Iverson, the December issue of Golf Channel Academy Magazine – out Tuesday – is all about practice, and how to practice more efficiently. Following Golf Channel’s instructional theme for the month of December of “Perfect Practice,” the latest GCA Magazine features nine drills designed to help you better transfer your game from the range to the course. Included among these is reigning Open champion Zach Johnson’s signature ball-shaping drill, and one of Phil Mickelson’s staple putting exercises.
The all-instruction digital publication – the first of its kind – also includes video tips and feature articles and columns from Golf Channel Academy’s world-class coaches. Readers can view the most current issue for free at www.GolfChannelAcademy.com. The monthly magazine is currently viewable on desktop computers only, but will be available on iOS and Android mobile and tablet devices starting in early 2016.
In addition to the practice pointers, the December issue features a column from Golf Channel “School of Golf” host Martin Hall on legendary instructor Chuck Cook, and how he helped the late Payne Stewart capture the 1999 U.S. Open. There’s also an in-depth swing analysis of hard-hitting Swede Henrik Stenson, who in 2013 became the only player to capture both the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup and European Tour’s Race to Dubai playoff races in the same season.
