Fox Sports released a statement Monday morning announcing an “amicable separation” with Greg Norman.
“After careful consideration, we have decided to make this change to our USGA Championships coverage,” said John Entz, Fox Sports president of production and executive producer. “We want to thank Greg for his contributions last year, and wish him success in all his current and future endeavors.”
Norman said in the release: “I put a lot into my role this past year and really enjoyed the time I spent with the commentary team. I have a long history with Fox and wish them well on their journey showcasing USGA Championships.”

Greg Norman is out as Fox Sports’ lead golf analyst, according to various reports published Sunday.
The news first appeared in a tweet from Links Magazine and was later confirmed by multiple outlets.
Norman anchored the network’s coverage of the U.S. Open from Chambers Bay last June alongside play-by-play broadcaster Joe Buck and a host of other commentators.
One anonymous source told Golf.com, “Norman wasn’t very good on the air because ‘he didn’t do his homework and he didn’t know any players who weren’t Australian,’” and that “Norman just wasn’t engaged in any of the Fox telecasts the way the network had hoped.”
Other outlets, notably Golfweek, cited Norman’s silence after Dustin Johnson’s three-putt on the 72nd hole: “Norman was at a loss for words, despite having endured many painful defeats in his playing career.”
An official confirmation from Fox is reportedly expected Monday.
This year’s U.S. Open will be held at Oakmont Country Club from June 16-19.
