The market for so-called “street” golf shoes continues to grow as manufacturers keep upgrading and expanding their offerings in that realm. One recent example of that comes from Ecco, the Danish footwear maker that all but created this category, in the form of the new Street Evo One.
Company officials describe the Evo One as a performance hybrid shoe that combines Ecco’s award-winning Dynamic Traction System with proprietary features designed to enhance stability.
One of those is a direct-injected midsole that boasts an integrated shank piece made to cup and cushion a player’s heel and deliver comfort as well as torsional support. The concept is to ensure that golfers have an exceptionally stable platform that allows them to generate as much power with their swings as possible. Even without spikes.
In addition, the Evo One offers a slightly wider platform toward the rear than the previous version of Ecco’s best-selling golf street shoes. It is built atop a patented outsole configuration of approximately 100 molded traction bars and 800 traction angles, all of which are made from TPU, a highly durable, wear-resistant material designed to provide superb gripping ability as well as comfort.
Evo Ones are offered in high-grade cow leather and also genuine camel leather, each of which includes the shoemaker’s exclusive Hydromax tanned-in treatment that makes them resistant to even the most inclement weather.
