Callaway travel bag keeps rolling on

It seems only fitting that a golf club manufacturer like Callaway also sells travel golf bags, so its customers can protect their woods and wedges, their irons and putters whenever they take their games on the road. And the latest version of the company’s wheeled golf bag carrier, which came out this year, is designed specifically for stand bags.

The many commendable features of the Callaway travel bag begin with the FT HX club protection system, which wraps honeycomb-like padding around the exposed heads of the golf clubs when the case is closed. The ergonomic top handle allows golfers to place their hands in a more natural, palm-facing-the-body position when they pull the bag carriers through airports, and the inline skate wheels on the bottom of the carrier have reinforced spokes for added strength and durability – and easy rolling.

Internal straps enable players to secure their stand bags inside the bag carrier, so they are not jostled during transport. In addition, there are several pockets inside to store clothes, accessories and, yes, even dirty laundry. A removable pocket on the outside of the carrier is large enough to fit a pair of size 13 EEE golf shoes.

The Callaway stand bag carrier is sleek in appearance and easy to handle, yet can take on a heavy load of golf gear. It employs a convenient, book-style opening feature that gives users fuller and easier access to the interior for simpler storage and removal of articles. And it utilizes a Cordura fabric on its exterior that has a superior strength-to-weight ratio and resists abrasions, tears and scuffs.

Made exclusively for Callaway by the TRG Group, a St. Louis company that specializes in luggage and produces gear for such well-known travel brands as Victorinox, the stand bag carrier is available in two colors – black and blue/black – and carries a lifetime warranty. It is found at leading on- and off-course retailers, and may also be purchased through the Callaway web site.
