Matt Bettencourt chased his opening 67 at the Frys.com Open with a pair of 3-over-par 74s and missed the 54-hole cut by two strokes at 2-over 215.
Bettencourt hit only 19 greens in his second and third rounds combined, leading to 10 bogeys and a double in his last 36 holes. Others that failed to survive the MDF cut include James Driscoll (214), Andres Gonzales (214), Paul Goydos (214), George McNeill (215), Aron Price (215), Patrick Reed (215), Cameron Tringale (218) and Chris DiMarco (219). This leaves 71 golfers to compete in Sunday’s final round.

Matt Bettencourt carded a bogey-free, 5-under-par 34-33=67 on Disney’s Palm Course in his second round of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Classic.
With his opening 68 at Magnolia, he’s reached the midpoint in 9-under 135, three strokes back of the clubhouse co-leaders. Bettencourt has hit 31 greens and taken just 60 putts. He’s suffered just one bogey. Today’s effort included an eagle and three birdies on the easier of the two tracks. Since sharing sixth place at The Honda Classic six and a half months ago, he’s failed to post a top 25 in 21 starts. Disney World just might be a magic kingdom after all.

Matt Bettencourt withdrew from the Shell Houston Open following his opening round due to an unspecified injury.
Bettencourt shot a 6-over-par 40-38=78 in the opener with a birdie, two bogeys, one double and a triple. He was scheduled to go off the first tee at 5:40 p.m. CT for his second round. This drops him to 4-for-11 on the year with no top 25s. He did not qualify for next week’s Masters.

He was a sudden withdrawal from last week’s stop in Houston following his opening round. It was reported that he suffered an unspecified injury. Of course, gamers are well aware that he’s battled an assortment of maladies over the last couple of years. He’s 2-for-3 at Harbour Town but hasn’t cracked the top 60.

Matt Bettencourt settled for a 2-over-par 36-37=73 in his opening round of the RBC Heritage.
Back in action following a withdrawal after one round in Houston two weeks ago due to an unspecified injury, Bettencourt managed to land just seven greens in regulation today. Yet, he offset four bogeys with two birdies to make it respectable. His longest conversion of the round resulted in a birdie from 13'10" at the first hole, his tenth of the day.

Matt Bettencourt carded a 3-under-par 34-34=68 in the third round of the RBC Heritage, positioning himself for what could be his best finish of 2012.
The South Carolina resident’s previous best finish was a T26 at the Maykoba Golf Classic. He sits at 3-under-par 210 on the strength of a 1.667 putting average and a 26 putt per round average.

Matt Bettencourt secured his best finish of 2012 when he signed for a 2-under-par 34-35=69 in the final round of the RBC Heritage.
His previous best finish was a T26 at the Mayakoba Golf Classic. He circled four birdies to two bogeys in a final round that saw him navigate the small greens of Harbour Town in only 24 putts. The flat stick was working in more than just the final round, as he putted to an average of 1.632 for the week and averaged 25.5 putts per round en route to a 5-under 279. He will now head to San Antonio for the Valero Texas Open.

Matt Bettencourt withdrew nine holes into his second round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans due to an eye injury.
Bettencourt went out in 6-over-par 42 on the front side of TPC Louisiana before calling it quits. He was an aggregate 8-over through 27 holes. This is the ninth time in 14 starts this year that’s he’s failed to cash. It’s his second WD in his last four. If he’s able, he’ll try again at next week’s

Back inside the ropes following a withdrawal after 27 holes in New Orleans last week due to an eye injury, Bettencourt hit only eight greens in regulation at Quail Hollow today and failed to convert on any of his birdie opportunities. Meanwhile, he swallowed three bogeys and a double.

Matt Bettencourt has 20 points through two rounds of the Reno-Tahoe Open, 2 back of the 36-hole clubhouse co-leaders.
The 2010 RTO champ has battled injuries and poor form all season. His T6 at the RBC Heritage remains his only top 25 among seven paydays in 25 starts. It accounts for over 71 percent of his season’s earnings. Thus far at Montreux, he’s circled an eagle and 11 birdies against four bogeys and a double.
