The 57-year-old Quinn, who competes on PGA Tour Champions is among 16 U.S. Open qualifiers who advanced through both local and final qualifying. Quinn, who also qualified in 1992, 1994, 1996 and 2014, moved forward through both stages for the fifth time, finishing T-3 at the Purchase, N.Y., final qualifier, and surviving an 8-for-3 playoff. He is the oldest player in field at the U.S. Open, and he arrives in Brookline at 89th on the PGA Tour Champions money list entering the U.S. Open. He’s made three Tour Champions starts this season, with his best finish being a T-21 last week at the American Family Insurance Championship. Last season, Quinn made 10 Champions starts during the combined 2020-21 season and was 86th on the money list in his return from a shoulder injury that kept him out for all of 2020.
