Blue Jays signed RHP Gabe Klobosits to a minor league contract.
Klobosits, who debuted in the majors with the Nationals in 2021, was recently pitching in the independent Atlantic League, allowing one run in eight innings for Gastonia. He’ll head to Triple-A Buffalo.

    Athletics released RHP Gabe Klobosits.
Klobosits was claimed off waivers from the Nationals back in April and compiled a disastrous 7.59 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 12/6 K/BB ratio across 10 2/3 innings at Triple-A Las Vegas. The 27-year-old righty made 11 relief appearances last year in the majors and should be able to find a new opportunity on a minor league contract.

Klobosits was claimed off waivers from the Nationals back in early April and went on to post an ugly 7.59 ERA and 12/6 K/BB ratio across 10 2/3 innings of relief at Triple-A Las Vegas. The 27-year-old right-hander will likely pass through waivers unclaimed this time around.

Athletics claimed RHP Gabe Klobosits off waivers from the Nationals.
Klobosits should jump right into the Athletics’ bullpen after being designated for assignment last week by the Nationals. The 26-year-old righty struggled in 11 major-league relief appearances last year, but posted a pristine 1.64 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 46/14 K/BB ratio across 38 1/3 innings between Double-A Harrisburg and Triple-A Rochester.

Nationals designated RHP Gabe Klobosits for assignment.
Klobosits has been removed from Washington’s 40-man roster and placed on waivers with the hope that another team will scoop him up. The 26-year-old righty made 11 unremarkable relief appearances last year with the Nationals.

Nationals optioned RHP Gabe Klobosits, OF Yasel Antuna and LHP’s Seth Romero and Evan Lee to Triple-A Rochester, reassigned RHP’s Jackson Rutledge and Jefry Rodriguez, LHP Alberto Baldonado and INF Andrew Young to minor league spring training.
The first round of cuts from Nationals’ camp include Klobosits, who made 11 relief appearances late last season and a few prominent non-roster invitees fighting for a spot on the big-league roster in Rodriguez and Baldonado.

Nationals optioned RHP Gabe Klobosits to Triple-A Rochester.
Klobosits gets sent out after a rough appearance on Sunday against the Brewers. The 26-year-old rookie has allowed eight runs (seven earned) over his first 11 1/3 innings in the majors.

Gabe Klobosits and Wander Suero combined to give up five runs in the ninth Monday in a loss to the Phillies.
The Nationals weren’t going to use Kyle Finnegan for the fourth time in five days, so Klobosits, who was making his third major league appearance, was allowed to remain in a 3-2 game after pitching a scoreless eighth. He went on to give up two singles to begin the ninth, causing the Nationals to turn to Wander Suero. Suero, already coming off a bad outing Sunday, gave up three more hits, and the Nationals scored five runs in all. At this point, Finnegan is the only Nationals reliever worth rostering in fantasy leagues.

Nationals purchased the contract of RHP Gabe Klobosits from Triple-A Rochester.
It’s the first trip to the big leagues for the 26-year-old right-hander. He has been outstanding in the minor leagues this season, registering a 0.56 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 36/10 K/BB ratio across 32 innings between Double-A Harrisburg and Triple-A Rochester. If he continues to pitch like that at the big league level, he’ll work his way into a high-leverage role.
