    Chiefs re-signed OLB Frank Zombo.
Zombo was released by the Chiefs earlier this year, but they will bring him in after a few Chiefs linebackers got banged up last week. Zombo has experience playing on special teams and at both inside and outside linebacker.
  • FA Linebacker #51
Packers OLB Frank Zombo (shoulder) expects to return to practice next week.
Zombo had an X-ray of his fractured shoulder blade on Thursday. “I feel 100 percent, I feel great,” said Zombo, “and so basically once they take a look at that, they’ll determine when I can get back.” Erik Walden is Pro Football Focus’ 27th-ranked outside linebacker through three weeks, so Zombo could regain his starting job in a few weeks.
  • FA Linebacker #51
The Packers have ruled out OLB Frank Zombo (knee) for Week 7.
The initial diagnosis was a knee hyperextension, usually a 2-4 week injury. Erik Walden will continue to start at right outside linebacker after rotating with Zombo against the Rams. Walden has just one sack through six games.
  • FA Linebacker #53
Packers first-round OLB Nick Perry will compete for a starting job opposite Clay Matthews.
“You always hope that through competition that guy will surface,” DC Dom Capers said. “Nick will come in, and we’ll throw him right into the competition and give him a chance to go out and show us what he can do.” Perry should have the advantage over Erik Walden, Brad Jones, and Frank Zombo.
  • FA Linebacker #51
The Packers have ruled out OLB Frank Zombo (hamstring) and DE Mike Neal (knee) for Week 10.
Playing in just his second game of the season last Sunday, Zombo pulled up lame. As he’s been doing nearly all year, Erik Walden will fill-in at right outside linebacker. Neal has resumed practicing, but remains week-to-week.
  • FA Linebacker #51
Packers declared OLB Frank Zombo, CB Davon House, LB Robert Francois, LB Jamari Lattimore, G/T Ray Dominguez, LT Chad Clifton, and DE Mike Neal inactive for Monday Night Football against the Vikings.
Zombo is out with a hamstring strain. Neal is missing this game with a knee injury, but has made substantial progress and could return for Week 11. Marshall Newhouse gets another start at left tackle with Clifton (hamstring) out.
  • FA Linebacker #51
Packers OLB Frank Zombo was forced from Sunday’s win with a left hamstring injury.
Zombo was appearing in just his second game of the season thanks to knee issues. His status is uncertain, but he’s a poor bet to suit up against the Vikings. Erik Walden should continue to see the bulk of the snaps at right outside linebacker in Zombo’s absence.
  • FA Linebacker #51
Packers declared LB Frank Zombo, TE D.J. Williams, OT Chad Clifton, G Ray Dominguez, LB Robert Francois, LB Jamari Lattimore, and CB Davon House inactive for Week 11 against the Bucs.
Zombo has battled a hamstring strain among several other injuries this season. Clifton (hamstring) is targeting Week 13 for a return.
  • FA Linebacker #56
The Packers are still searching for a complement to Clay Matthews at outside linebacker.
Erik Walden continues to start, but he hasn’t finished the past two games, giving way to Frank Zombo and Vic So’oto. The Packers figure to use a rotation in the playoffs, searching for the combo that will provide the best pass-rushing spark.
  • FA Tight End #49
Packers placed TE Andrew Quarless (knee) and LB Frank Zombo (hamstring) on reserve/PUP.
Quarless tore both his ACL and MCL in early December last year. It’s a tough blow to an intriguing pass-catching prospect as he’s in danger of missing the entire year. Tom Crabtree is Jermichael Finley’s backup.
