Saints place OG Forrest Lamp on injured reserve, ending his season.
Lamp’s injury hasn’t been disclosed yet. He has been missing from practice for a few days. Lamp began the 2021 season on injured reserve in Buffalo but was eventually released with an injury settlement. He appeared in one game for the Saints after joining their practice squad later in the season. It’s possible New Orleans takes a similar path, allowing him to continue his career elsewhere. Having only stayed healthy for one underwhelming season with the Chargers, Lamp’s career is on life support.

    Saints re-signed OG Forrest Lamp.
The ex-Charger spent most of 2021 as a Saints reserve, though he made it into only one contest. He will have work to do to retain his 53-man roster spot.

Saints signed OG Forrest Lamp to the practice squad.
New Orleans inked him to a deal following his workout for the team on Monday afternoon. Lamp, 27, was most recently released from Buffalo with an injury settlement after being placed on injured reserve in camp. He appeared in all 16 games as the Chargers’ starting left guard in 2020 for the first time in his career.

Bills placed OG Forrest Lamp (calf) on injured reserve.
Lamp has been sidelined with a calf injury since the early days of training camp. A former second-round selection of the Chargers, Lamp has suffered injuries at every turn of his career. He finally put together a healthy season in LA last year, starting all 16 games for the Bolts. The Bills brought him in as a free agent to compete for a starting role at either guard position but that won’t be happening this year.

  • BUF Wide Receiver #82
    Bills waived/injured WR Duke Williams.
The Bills also placed guard Forrest Lamp on injured reserve, freeing up two spots for them to sign running back Kerrith Whyte and defensive back Tim Harris. Williams has bounced between Buffalo’s practice squad and active roster multiple times since signing with the team in 2019. He made one appearance for the Bills last year but did not record any stats. Williams is a candidate to sign with the Bills’ practice squad if he can get healthy.

Bills signed G Forrest Lamp, formerly of the Chargers.
Lamp, a former second round draft pick by the Chargers, had a disastrous start to his NFL career, missing his entire rookie year with a torn ACL before making two appearances in 2018. He finally played a full season in 2020, graded by Pro Football Focus as the 77th best guard in the league. Lamp will join a Buffalo offensive line ranked by PFF as 2020’s sixth best pass blocking unit and 15th best run blocking line.

Chargers coach Anthony Lynn said he plans to give Forrest Lamp some reps at left tackle.
Lamp was a three-year starter at left tackle in college. He made both of his starts on the inside last season before going on IR. Lamp has questionable arm length to protect the blindside, but the Chargers don’t have many options behind Sam Tevi.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Chargers G Forrest Lamp (ankle) will miss the remainder of the season.
Lamp was carted off the field during the Chargers’ Week 7 loss to the Titans. The Chargers’ 2018 second-round pick has played in just nine games over the past two seasons.

Chargers OG Forrest Lamp (leg) was carted off in Week 7 against the Titans.
Lamp was rolled up on while in pass protection, and it had the look of a serious injury. The Chargers offensive line was already a concern, so this wound just adds to the pain. Lamp is officially questionable to return.

The Chargers plan to give third-year OG Forrest Lamp reps at tackle in 2019.
The No. 38 overall pick of the 2017 draft, Lamp missed his entire rookie year with a torn ACL before making only two appearances last season. He will supposedly get the chance to compete for a starting job at guard in 2019, but the tackle reps/increased versatility will probably be a must if he’s to keep his spot on the 53-man roster. Lamp is already 25 years old.
