Dolphins fired offensive coordinator Mike Sherman.
Sherman’s 2013 offense finished 27th in yards and 26th in points despite dropping massive gobs of money on Mike Wallace, Brian Hartline, Brandon Gibson, Dustin Keller, Tyson Clabo, and more. Miami also allowed a league-high 58 sacks of second-year franchise quarterback Ryan Tannehill, whom the club will now pray was not shell shocked by a hit-riddled season. For now, at least, it appears GM Jeff Ireland and coach Joe Philbin are safe, with Sherman being the Fall Guy. The Dolphins would do well to find a more imaginative playcaller willing to commit to the run game as a critical element on offense.
