Strome brothers excel in OHL

QUEBEC MAJOR JUNIOR HOCKEY LEAGUE

Matthew Highmore agreed to an entry-level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday. The 21-year-old forward has 32 goals and 82 points in 58 contests with the Saint John Sea Dogs this season. Maxime Fortier registered an assist on Wednesday, providing him with a point for the fourth time in the span of five games. He has 30 goals and 83 points in 61 contests in 2016-17. Tyler Boland scored a goal and an assist on Sunday in his second straight multi-point contest. Boland has 43 goals and 97 points in 60 games with the Rimouski Oceanic. Giovanni Fiore has found the back of the net in five of his last six games. That gives him 47 goals and 79 points in 53 contests with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.

ONTARIO HOCKEY LEAGUE

Matthew Strome is on a six-game point streak and has scored a goal in each of his last four games. Strome has 33 goals and 56 points in 57 games with the Hamilton Bulldogs. His elder brother, Dylan Strome, has also been hot lately as he’s on a seven-game point streak that’s included five multi-point games. The Arizona Coyotes prospect has 19 goals and 61 points in a mere 26 games with the Erie Otters. Strome’s Otters teammate Alex DeBrincat has scored at least a goal in 14 consecutive contests. He’s up to 55 goals and 113 points in 54 contests. Michael McLeod has recorded 11 points in his last three games. That gives the Devils prospect 21 goals and 61 points in 48 games with the Mississauga Steelheads.

WESTERN HOCKEY LEAGUE

Mason Shaw scored a goal and registered an assist on Wednesday to extend his point streak to five games. He has 26 goals and 86 points in 63 games with the Medicine Hat Tigers. Deven Sideroff netted a pair of goals on Wednesday, making it his fourth multi-point game in the span of seven games. The Ducks prospect is up to 35 goals and 74 points in 62 contests with the Kamloops Blazers. Adam Brooks saw his four-game point streak come to an end on Tuesday. The Maple Leafs prospect has 33 goals and 103 points in 56 games with the Regina Pats in 2016-17. Tyler Wong is riding an eight-game point streak. He has 47 goals and 94 points in 61 games this season.
