From the early wave on Friday, R1 leader and World No. 158 Adam Svensson navigated a 5-under 33-34=67 in the weather-delayed second round of the opposite-field Barbasol and is the current leader on 15-under 129 with play suspended for the evening.
The entire PM wave has yet to complete their respective laps but as things currently stand, the Canadian is a 36-hole leader/co-leader for a first time in 59 events. After opening with a 10-under 62, which included a pair of eagle-3s, he endured two weather delays today (totaling 5 hrs. 20 mins), and outpaced two squares with seven circles on 10 (of 14) fairways and 13 greens in regulation. The 28-year-old, who arrived off three consecutive top-25 finishes, is vying for a first PGA TOUR title, attempting to better a T7 at this season’s Sony Open back in January, where he was T5 at halftime and T3 thru 54 holes (64-67-65-67). At the moment, he ranks 1st SG: Approach (5.302), 1st SG: Tee-to-Green (7.571), and 23rd SG: Putting (2.143). See link below to post-round comments. UPDATE: With R2 complete on Saturday, Svensson is T3, one back of co-leaders Matti Schmid (63) and Max McGreevy (63).
