Norway’s Kris Ventura turned up the volume on his back nine Sunday at The Ledges in Huntsville, Calif., carding a final-round, 4-under 66 to vault up the leaderboard 10 spots and finish T-4 at the Huntsville Championship.
The 27-year-old Ventura, a two-time Korn Ferry Tour winner, was chasing his first win since the 2019 season, when he won the Utah Championship and Pinnacle Bank Championship and earned PGA Tour membership by finishing No. 4 on the KFT Regular Season points list. On the season, he’s made four KFT cuts in 10 starts, with his finish at Huntsville being his only top 10 to date. He’s made one PGA Tour start this season, at the Fortinet Championship, where he Monday qualified but missed the cut. Last season, Ventura was 165th on the FedExCup standings with 10 PGA Tour cuts made in 29 starts. He qualified for the KFT Finals but failed to regain his PGA Tour card for 2021-22.
