In a new regular column on Rotoworld, we reflect on the tournaments just gone and also take an early peek at the action ahead on the PGA and European Tours.
European Tour
OMEGA EUROPEAN MASTERS
Final Leaderboard
1. (-14, 266) Sebastian Soderberg (Odds: 275/1)
2. (-14, 266) Rory McIlroy (Odds: 4/1)
2. (-14, 266) Andres Romero (Odds: 300/1)
2. (-14, 266) Kalle Samooja (Odds: 400/1)
2. (-14, 266) Lorenzo Gagli (Odds: 400/1)
Notes: A wild week in this Swiss mountains eventually settled by a five-man shootout between the hot tournament favourite and four complete outsiders. That said, Soderberg was T5 in his home Scandinavian Invitation last week and Romero was T9 at this course two years ago. This was the second time in four visits to Crans-sur-Sierre that Rory had lost a play-off. The first was back in 2008.

Fate of the favorites
2. (-14, 277) Rory McIlroy (Odds: 4/1)
69. (Evs, 280) Matthew Fitzpatrick (Odds: 8/1)
8. (-12, 268) Tommy Fleetwood (Odds: 12/1)
MC. (Evs, 140) Alex Noren (Odds: 18/1)
Notes: Rory just missed out and Tommy Fleetwood was only two shots away from joining the big playoff. But a surprise to see double defending champion Fitzpatrick so far down the board given his impressive recent form. Noren, another two-time winner at Crans-sur-Sierre, missed the cut to the chagrin of many gamers.
Coming up this week…
PORSCHE EUROPEAN OPEN
Location: Green Eagle, Hamburg. 7,544 yards, par 72.
Notes: The tournament was founded in 1978 and played in England and Ireland until 2009. After dropping off the European Tour schedule, it came back on German soil and had two years at Bad Griesbach before moving to its current location. This is the third year at Green Eagle so we have some course form building up now.
Who’s playing? With the PGA TOUR between seasons, some American talent boosts the field with Xander Schauffele, Matt Kuchar and Patrick Reed all heading to Germany.
Xander Schauffele, Paul Casey, Patrick Reed, Rory Sabbatini, Matt Kuchar, Thomas Pieters, Bernd Wiesberger, Andy Sullivan, Lucas Bjerregaard, Alexander Levy, Jorge Campillo.

2017 (-13, 275) Jordan Smith – 1st European Tour win
