Daily Fantasy Sports [DFS]
I will be giving out selections for one team for each DFS site, per week.
These lineups will be entered into a large-entry Guaranteed Prize Pool. That means we need to take a risk or two, in order to separate ourselves from the field.
The idea is to provide you a list of names to consider. I would not recommend copying these teams, golfer for golfer. Duplicate teams are no fun and don’t help anyone.
FanDuel Picks:
Bryson DeChambeau (11,000): There is a theme developing with B.A.D. and it has to do with the generosity of the fairways. He’s won at TPC Deere Run, TPC Boston, and Muirfield Village. He had a close call at Bay Hill. All of these venues have some of the widest measured fairways on TOUR. That checks out well for TPC Twin Cities since most of these fairways are big enough to fit a large department store in them.
Rory Sabbatini (10,000): Has gained strokes over the field in 13 straight starts. At this price, why not ride the hot hand?
Keegan Bradley (9,800): Had a career week with the putter in his most recent start. Can he maintain that? No way. Do we need him to maintain that putting performance at this price? No.
Sungjae Im (9,800): We see a dip in pricing despite a trio of top 25s in his last three starts. Lot of value here.
Patrick Reed (10,700): The pieced all came together last week with a T5 in Detroit. We know he can hit the winner’s circle at a high clip so maybe he’ll snowball on last week’s strong showing.
Bronson Burgoon (7,900): The longshot to round out the team. Burgoon was co-first-round-leader at the Travelers and T11 after R1 last week. He loves these scoring fests.
DraftKings Picks -- @futureoffantasy:
Kevin Streelman (8,900): Going with a balanced build here, I’ll use Streelman is my highest-priced pick. He’s gained strokes tee-to-green in seven straight starts.
Daniel Berger (8,000): Finally healthy again and it’s showing with some low rounds in the Spring. The next step is to piece those good rounds together and avoid the blowup rounds. I’ll take my chances that he’s close, at this price.
Adam Hadwin (8,100): The Canadian is dialing in his irons with positing strokes gained approach in four of his last five starts. The putter is his longterm strength so if he pairs those two up then the sky is the limit.
Charles Howell III (8,400): Ranks top 10 in this week’s field in performance on easy courses since 2014 so this week’s venue should suit him well.
Charley Hoffman (7,800): His putter has let him down recently but he’s gained on approach in eight straight measured events. He’s been a bit unlucky to have missed three straight cuts. He’s not playing that poorly.
Scott Piercy (8,200): The Las Vegas resident is real handy with the scoring clubs which is ideal for low-scoring birdiefests like TPC Twin Cities is projected to be.
Yahoo Picks:
Jason Day (44): He’s talked about getting back to No. 1 in the world so we know he’s motivated and not just going through the motions. Extremely high winning upside and led the field in GIR last time out.
Bronson Burgoon (20): Snapped out of his slump over the last two weeks and now he gets another birdiefest at TPC Twin Cities. These low-scoring events seem to suit him well.
Sepp Straka (20): Striking it well right now with positive strokes gained off-the-tee and on approach in six straight starts.
Patrick Reed (41): Finally flashed back into contention last week with a T5 in Detroit. He’s a prolific winner so the next one might be close.
Troy Merritt (28): The appeal remains the same as last week for the Midwest native. He’s been very boom or bust lately which is just fine for large-field GPP contests.
Hideki Matsuyama (44): The model of consistency, he gains a boatload of strokes tee-to-green every week.
