Jaguars coach Liam Coen said he will call offensive plays in 2025.
The Jaguars didn’t bring in Coen to delegate offensive play-calling to somebody else. The 39-year-old head coach got where he is today by dialing up explosive plays and coaching Baker Mayfield to the best offensive season of his career (4500-41-16), and was long expected to call the plays for Jacksonville once his hiring was announced. With ample weapons at his disposal and a quarterback in Trevor Lawerence, who has just four years under his belt, Coen should have plenty of plays to dial up this upcoming season.

Ravens hired Chiefs safeties coach Donald D’Alesio as their new defensive backs coach.
The Ravens had one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL for much of the 2024 season. D’Alesio spent the last three seasons as the safeties coach for a formidable Chiefs defense. He now comes in to work with Kyle Hamilton, Marlon Humphrey, and the rest of the DB group after a rough past year. Meanwhile, the Chiefs hired Ravens defensive coordinator Zach Orr’s brother, Chris Orr, to their defensive staff.
  • NO Tight End #7
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says he has “a hard time seeing [Taysom Hill] back” with the Saints for 2025.
The Saints have a new head coach in Kellen Moore and have to make some decisions to manage roster and cap space. Hill tore his ACL in December of 2024 and is likely out until part of the way through the 2025 season. New Orleans would save $10 million designating Hill as a post-June 1st cut for next season. The 34-year-old has been an all-round playmaker for the Saints in recent years, but between the the torn ACL, new offense with Moore, and cap savings, Hill may not be a Saint next season.

The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman reports the Raiders are expected to hire Incarnate Word OC and QBs coach Conner McQueen as an assistant wide receivers coach.
McQueen served as a UCLA graduate assistant under Kelly from 2018-2019 before eventually finding his way to the FCS’ Incarnate Word in 2023. Feldman notes, “Incarnate Word finished No. 2 in FCS in total offense and passing offense in 2024.” Fans should keep an eye on the 31-year-old McQueen, who evidently made a positive impression with Kelly.
  • KC Wide Receiver #19
Chiefs signed WR Tyquan Thornton to a reserve/future contract.
The former second-round pick was waived by the Patriots midseason and landed on Kansas City’s practice squad. He never made an appearance for the team but will get a shot at a roster spot this summer. The Chiefs also signed WR Justyn Ross, WR Jason Brownlee, S Deon Bush, TE Baylor Cupp, DT Siaki Ika, OT Chukwuebuka Godrick, DT Fabien Lovett, QB Chris Oladokun, CB Darius Rush, and CB Eric Scott to R/F deals.
  • ATL Wide Receiver #16
Falcons signed WR Phillip Dorsett to a reserve/future contract.
Dorsett spent most of 2023 and the summer of 2024 bouncing between the Broncos’ practice squad and active roster. He appeared in two games for them two years ago but was cut by Denver before the start of last season. Dorsett joined Atlanta’s practice squad in October but never saw any action on the game-day roster. He will be fighting for a roster spot this summer. The Falcons also signed QB Emory Jones, RB Elijah Dotson, WR Jesse Matthews, WR Dylan Drummond, OL Joey Fisher, OL Jovaughn Gwyn, OL Tyrone Wheatley Jr., DL Junior Aho, DB Lamar Jackson, DE Khalid Kareem, DB Benny Sapp III, WR Makai Polk, OL Matthew Cindric, DL LaCale London, WR David Sills, and TE Nikola Kalinic to R/F deals.
  • MIN Running Back #30
Vikings FB C.J. Ham underwent a “simple procedure,” apparently on his right ankle.
In a photo posted by his wife, Ham can be seen sporting a boot on his right foot post-op. The caption indicates it was a “simple procedure” and beat reporter Ben Goessling helpfully notes, “Ham was on the injury report with an ankle injury toward the end of the season, though he didn’t miss any games.” Ham should be good to go for training camp.
  • FA General Manager
FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz reports “the Jaguars will interview former Titans GM Jon Robinson for their” general manager vacancy.
Robinson spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons away from football following a bumpy end to his 2016-2022 stint as the Titans’ general manager. Robinson infamously jettisoned star WR A.J. Brown in the 2022 offseason but ill-fated early-round draft picks and questionable veteran WR acquisitions also loom large in his rearview. Perhaps Robinson has refined his processes during his time away from the game.
  • FA Wide Receiver #87
TMZ reports Kadarius Toney was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, strangulation, and obstructing/harassing 911 calls.
According to TMZ, Toney has been accused of “putting his hand around a woman’s throat during a dispute at a Georgia residence on Jan. 14.” Warrants were put out for his arrest the next day and he was brought in by the police on February 6th. Toney briefly played for the Browns last year but was cut after muffing a punt and being penalized for taunting. His career was already hanging on by a thread before this incident. Needless to say, we have seen the last NFL snap for the former first-round pick.
  • Quarterback
Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders is visiting with the Browns and Giants.
Sanders mentioned the visits in a video from Well Off Media, the YouTube channel of his older brother Deion Sanders Jr. The visits themselves are still about a month away meaning the NFL Combine is next up for Sanders in the pre-draft process. As of a few weeks ago, Sanders had not determined if he would throw at the combine, though he will meet with plenty of teams in Indy. The Browns and Giants are on the clock directly after Tennessee at No. 1 overall. With both teams ready to move in new directions at quarterback, they are already starting their due diligence on the highly-touted prospect.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Saints have given senior offensive assistant Rick Dennison permission to speak to the Seahawks.
Dennison got his start in the NFL alongside Gary Kubiak with the Broncos. He has remained close with the Kubiak’s throughout his career and recently joined Klint Kubiak in New Orleans for the 2024 season. Kubiak was fired after one season but landed another offensive coordinator gig, this time in Seattle. Though the exact details of Dennison’s departure haven’t been ironed out, all signs point toward him joining Kubiak in the northwest.
