  • MIN Wide Receiver #18

Justin Jefferson caught 5-of-8 targets for 58 yards in the Vikings’ Wildcard loss to the Rams.
Jefferson appeared visibly frustrated on the sideline in the second half after failing to coral any of the three targets thrown his way after the break, potentially a sign of a lack of trust in quarterback Sam Darnold. That is of particular intrigue considering the franchise reportedly loves J.J. McCarthy and Darnold’s contract terminates this year, something that could lead to a change at signal caller heading into the new league year in Minnesota. Jefferson’s stellar 2024 season ends with 103 catches for 1,533 yards and 10 touchdowns, narrowly edged in the receptions department by triple crown-winning wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.

Commanders OC Kliff Kingsbury won’t interview for any potential head coaching positions while the Commanders are still in the postseason.
Kingsbury has been mentioned as a potential candidate for several jobs after reviving the Washington offense. The 45-year-old may miss out on some job opportunities with this strategy, but if the Commanders lose Saturday to the Lions, he’ll have an opportunity to meet in regards to a few open positions.
  • GB Coaching Staff
The Falcons completed an interview with Packers passing game coordinator Derrick Ansley for their defensive coordinator position.
Ansley was hired by the Packers as their pass game coordinator after previously serving as the Chargers defensive coordinator. The 43-year-old would be replacing Jimmy Lake, who was fired after Atlanta’s defense fell apart at the end of the 2024 campaign. Jeff Ulbrich and Lou Amarano have also reportedly interviewed for the position.
  • LAR Tight End #89
Tyler Higbee (chest) was a limited participant in Thursday’s practice.
Higbee has been able to get in back-to-back limited practices after leaving the Wild Card game against the Vikings on Monday. Rams head coach Sean McVay expects Higbee to be able to play in the Divisional Round against the Eagles in Philadelphia on Sunday, but those considering using him in their slate should keep a close eye.
  • NO Quarterback #4
Releasing Derek Carr before the start of the new league year would create a $50.1 million dead money cap hit.
This, for a team that already has a $31.7 million dead money Marshon Lattimore cap hit. Designating Carr a post-June 1 release would be far more palatable, but his entire $51.5 million cap hit would then remain on the books until June, leaving a team currently projected to be $60 million over the 2025 cap with essentially zero flexibility. A standard restructure would free up plenty of space, but then leave Carr with an otherworldly (for him) $69.2 million 2026 cap number. Long story short, the Saints face nothing but hard choices with their failed franchise player. It’s going to be a bumpy offseason in NOLA.
  • GB Front Office
The Titans completed an interview with Packers VP of player personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan for their general manager vacancy.
It’s the second time that Sullivan has interviewed for the position. He’s also interviewed for the Jets’ gig, and is widely viewed as a rising star in the industry. It will be a surprise if Sullivan is still a member of the Packers’ organization by the end of the cycle.
  • HOU Tight End #86
Dalton Schultz (shoulder) is not in the injury report ahead of Saturday’s Divisional Round game against the Chiefs.
Schultz was able to get in a full practice Thursday and the 6-foot-5 tight end appears to be a full go for the contest against the Chiefs. It’s beyond plausible that the Texans are going to have to throw often in this game, so Schultz could be a sneaky play for the Saturday showdown in Kansas City.
  • PIT Offensive Coordinator
The Jets completed an interview with Steelers OC Arthur Smith for their head coach position.
Smith is also reportedly a candidate for the Bears job after helping the Steelers reach the playoffs in 2024. It’s worth noting that his previous head coaching gig with the Falcons didn’t work out very well, and the Pittsburgh offense didn’t exactly shine at the end of the season. Still, Smith obviously has some heat, and seems like a strong candidate to ultimately end up coaching the Jets in 2025.
  • DET Offensive Coordinator
FOX’s Jordan Schultz reports the Bears’ head-coaching search is down to a “two-horse race” between Lions OC Ben Johnson and ex-Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy.
Schultz allows that Vikings DC Brian Flores could get into the mix with a strong interview, but that would go as strongly as possible against Caleb Williams’ stated desire for an offensive-minded head coach. It would also be, frankly, not smart considering Flores’ checkered history with Tua Tagovailoa and the Bears’ entire near future being staked on Williams’ arm. This has to be a play-calling head coach, and Johnson and McCarthy are both qualified in their own way. Johnson, of course, would be vastly preferable to McCarthy, even if you can make the case McCarthy has somehow ended up a bit underrated for his work in Dallas and Green Bay.
  • KC Running Back #10
Isiah Pacheco (ribs) is off the Chiefs’ injury report and will play in the Divisional Round against the Texans.
Pacheco was a full participant in practice all week. With nearly three full weeks to recover from the rib injury he suffered in Week 17’s game against the Steelers, Pacheco is good to go for Saturday’s divisional tilt against a Texans team the Chiefs beat handedly back in Week 16. Pacheco managed just nine carries for 26 yards in the victory, and will likely split touches with Kareem Hunt.
  • KC Defensive Lineman #95
Chris Jones is off the Chiefs’ injury report and will play in the Divisional Round against the Texans.
The Chiefs also removed LT D.J. Humphries (hamstring) from their injury report after both were listed on the report to start the week. Despite being listed on the report, Jones and Humphries were full participants in practice all week long, meaning there’s little to no concern about their health heading into Saturday’s game against the Texans.
