The Browns could certainly make things contentious if they choose to here. Watson’s contract is fully guaranteed, and without the fully-guaranteed deal, there’s not much reason he needs to be on the roster at this point with little chance of playing in 2025 and almost no investment in the idea that he’s still a starting-caliber quarterback. Watson has $92 million in guaranteed money due to him over the next two years. Both sides moving on feels inevitable, it’s just a question of how long it takes to get there.

This replaces the second-round tender the Cowboys gave Turpin last week. Turpin will reportedly be the “highest-paid special teams player in NFL history” — take that, Tremon Smith. He’ll likely be used as a gadget player in Brian Schottenheimer’s run-focused offense and should have some deeper league fantasy appeal given the current state of the Cowboys wideout depth chart.

The former first-round pick has been a rotational pass-rusher for the Bucs since they took him 32nd overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. Tryon-Shoyinka had at least four sacks in each of his first three seasons but only managed two in 2024. While he hasn’t lived up to his first-round pedigree, JTS has some utility as a part-time pass-rusher for the Browns. He will be fighting for a starting job opposite Myles Garrett in training camp.

Jones played just 257 snaps last year and hasn’t been a fantasy-relevant contributor since 2022. The Cardinals will continue to run Michael Wilson, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Greg Dortch ahead of Jones in three-wide sets. He could perhaps resurface with injuries, but entering his age-30 season, there’s not a lot of untapped potential in the Zay Jones business.

This will only save a little under $1.5 million against the cap unless the 49ers submit it as a post-June 1 release, and they already used one of their post-June 1 tags on Javon Hargrave. Floyd had 8.5 sacks last year and has essentially become a mercenary No. 2 EDGE at this point. It’s possible the 49ers are clearing a spot for Joey Bosa with this move. Floyd will look to find a new line after just one year with the 49ers.

Terms aren’t yet available. Stewart has played just 443 defensive snaps in three years for the Texans, but offers a lot of versatility as a special-teams piece. Houston general manager Nick Caserio treats special teams with the utmost reverence, so of course Stewart is a priority re-sign for the Texans.

The ten-year veteran will return to Houston for a second and third season following a 2024 season in which he started 13 games for Houston. Edwards has 52 tackles over the past two seasons and will rejoin a Houston defensive line graded by Pro Football Focus as the league’s tenth best pass rush.

Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Harris can earn up to $10 million in Washington. Harris signed a one-year deal with the Saints last offseason and made the most of his time in New Orleans. He was active for 13 starts at strong safety. Harris broke up five passes with one interception and tallied 74 combined tackles. He will now compete for a starting role in Dan Quinn’s defense.

Another $750,000 is available through incentives. It’s a big improvement on last year for the 33-year-old, who had to wait until April to sign a $1.2 million deal. He’s a beneficiary of this spring’s explosive guard market. An every-snap player since 2017, Tomlinson is more “available” than effective, but he’s good enough to stay on the field. The Texans are trying to build up an offensive line that was amongst the league’s worst in 2024.

Sanders signed with the Panthers as a free agent after playing out his rookie contract with the Eagles. He landed a four-year, $25.4 million deal in Carolina. The move proved to be a mistake almost instantly. Sanders started five games for the Panthers before being benched for Chuba Hubbard. He remained stuck in the backup role for most of his second season in Charlotte. His Panthers tenure comes to an end with 184 carries for 637 yards and three scores. A former thousand-yard runner, Sanders should have some interest in free agency, though he will likely be stuck taking a prove-it deal after his disastrous Panthers contract.

The Colts will reportedly hold an open competition between Richardson and Daniel Jones, who on Tuesday signed a one-year contract with Indy worth $14 million, with $13.5 million guaranteed. Richardson, who has struggled mightily with accuracy and touch throws over this 15 NFL starts, is working with a biometrics coach to clean up his throwing motion ahead of what will be a make-or-break year for the former first-round pick. Richardson, per his agent, will be “ready to roll” for a competition with Jones.
