Christian Watson failed to catch his only target in the Packers’ Week 16 win over the Saints.
Watson stayed down on the field after his only target of the game and eventually made his way to the sideline. The team did not release an update on his status during the game but he was seen on the sideline getting his right quad massaged just above the knee. Expect an update from the team in the coming days. Watson’s status in Week 17 is something to monitor after the Packers clinched a playoff berth, something that could provide more run for Dontayvion Wicks on the perimeter.

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said Bradley Chubb (PUP/knee) will not be activated for the 2024 season.
His three-week window expires later this week. McDaniel said that Chubb wasn’t ready to “be the player he expects” after working on his torn ACL, patellar tendon, and meniscus for three weeks. Chubb is due a $29.3 million cap number in 2025 and could be a potential target for a post-June 1 cut if the Dolphins are looking to free up cap space. Releasing him normally would save the Dolphins just $1.9 million.
  • NO Guard #62
Saints interim coach Darren Rizzi said “it looks like” G Lucas Patrick (knee) will miss the final two games of the season.
Rizzi said he wasn’t sure yet if Patrick would need surgery. Patrick started 10 games in 2024 for the Saints after being a dire center for the Bears for a few years. He’ll be a free agent this offseason and, if he wishes to continue his career heading into his age-32 season, should be able to catch on as a reserve lineman somewhere.
  • WAS Running Back #30
Commanders coach Dan Quinn said Austin Ekeler (concussion) is “trending in the right way” to possibly return in Week 18.
Ekeler has been on injured reserve after his second serious brain injury of the season, one that he said caused him to not remember walking off the field. It would be a boost to Washington’s passing game if Ekeler was able to return for Week 18 and the postseason.
  • NO Center #78
Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzi said he “doesn’t know” if Erik McCoy (shoulder) will return this season.
The good news, Rizzi offered, is that McCoy avoided major injury and won’t need surgery. McCoy started just seven games this year while dealing with a recurring groin injury, but he was wildly successful when he did play, notching a 94.2 PFF grade in 293 snaps. He left Week 16’s game after just seven plays and did not return. McCoy enters his age-28 season in 2025 as the likely starter for the Saints at center, carrying a $16.38 million cap figure that could be adjusted if the Saints want to continue to push money into future years.
  • NO Quarterback #18
Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzi said Spencer Rattler will start in Week 17’s game against the Raiders as long as Derek Carr isn’t able to come back.
Rizzi said that he was “hoping” Carr would be able to go this week, and that they’ll simulate what a game would be like for him and see how Carr responds. However, the revealing answer was when he told reporters that Rattler will take reps with the 1s until Carr is able to come back. That makes it sound like there’s no firm plan for Carr to be back just yet. Rattler will remain a bottom barrel superflex bench player in Carr’s absence, though a game against the Raiders has the potential to get him to a borderline superflex QB2.
  • NO Running Back #41
Saints coach Darren Rizzi said Alvin Kamara (groin) will be a “later in the week” decision for Week 17.
Rizzi also relayed an anecdote of Kamara going into Rizzi’s office and letting him know he wants to play this week. Kamara’s status looks very questionable heading into Week 17, but he’d be a good RB2 play against the Raiders if he can shake the groin injury this week.
  • NYJ Quarterback #8
Jets QB Aaron Rodgers said he’ll play Sunday and is dealing with a “little” MCL injury.
Only two more games left of this! Rodgers has been banged up all season and has played like a quarterback who has been banged up all season, and while he’s been good for fantasy football over the last month against some of the league’s worst defenses, he figures to be more of a superflex QB2 this week against the Bills.
  • SF Tackle #67
49ers signed T Charlie Heck off Arizona’s practice squad.
The 49ers desperately need bodies with several of their linemen set to miss the final two weeks of the season. Heck played 30 snaps for the Cardinals as a reserve this year and was active in five games. He was a passable backup with the Texans in their Lost Era of 2020-2022, starting 13 games for David Culley’s crew in 2021.
  • TEN Quarterback #11
Titans coach Brian Callahan said Mason Rudolph will start at quarterback against the Jaguars in Week 17.
Callahan hemmed and hawed about who he’d use at quarterback on Monday, but has settled on another Rudolph start. Rudolph will be a low-end superflex QB2 in a good matchup against Jacksonville’s defense in Week 17. It’s also strong news for Calvin Ridley off another solid game in Week 16 with Rudolph (3/78/1). Will Levis remains on the bench for yet another week as the Titans believe Rudolph’s ability to stay on schedule will help them push the Jaguars lower in the draft order.
  • ARI Wide Receiver #18
Kyler Murray admitted his connection with Marvin Harrison Jr. is “not where this team needs it to be.”
“We’ve gotta get better,” Murray said. “It’s not where I want to be, it’s not where this team needs it to be.” Fantasy football heads everywhere are nodding their heads reading this. Harrison hasn’t cleared 60 yards since October and Murray has completed only 18-of-34 targets to Harrison in the last month of games. Perhaps this quote points to added attention for fixing the connection in these last two games, perhaps not. What is clear is that starting Harrison is a risk in Week 17.
