Gardner Minshew completed 30-of-43 passes for 282 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in the Raiders’ 34-19, Week 11 loss to the Dolphins.
Minshew game-managed his way to two field goals and a four-point deficit at halftime. The Dolphins started to pull away and Minshew initially looked capable of keeping up with a touchdown toss to Brock Bowers. The rookie did most of the work, catching the ball near the line of scrimmage before shedding a would-be tackler en route to a 23-yard score. Still, it was a solid drive for the offense that kept them in the game. Minshew again answered the call with another touchdown throw on the team’s next drive, this one another YAC-based completion to Ameer Abdullah. This is where the magic ended as Minshew threw a brutal interception on a possible miscommunication with Jakobi Meyers late in the fourth quarter, functionally ending the game. Minshew is still the Raiders’ best bet at quarterback, but that isn’t saying much. Head coach Antonio Pierce may still turn to Desmond Ridder for Vegas’s Week 12 matchup with Denver.
  • PIT OFFENSIVE TACKLE (SUB) #77

Steelers OT Broderick Jones (groin) worked out individually during Wednesday’s practice.
Jones left Sunday’s practice with a soft tissue injury. The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo confirmed the team’s starting left tackle is dealing with a groin issue and is working his way back. Jones worked during individual periods, but did not participate in the live-contact practice for the Steelers on Wednesday. There is no indication this is a severe injury just yet, but one to keep an eye on as camp progresses.
Ravens' Likely expected to miss six weeks
Lawrence Jackson Jr. dives into how to approach Isaiah Likely in fantasy drafts as the Baltimore Ravens 25-year-old tight end is expected to miss at least six weeks after undergoing foot surgery.
  • NO Tight End #83
NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reports Saints TE Juwan Johnson is “expected to miss a few days at most” after suffering a groin injury in Wednesday’s practice.
Schultz further downplayed the issue, saying it is not believed to be serious. With Taysom Hill likely out for much of the 2025 season while recovering from a torn ACL, the Saints should have a relatively normal tight end room led by Johnson and Foster Moreau. Moreau is primarily a blocker but is also useful in the red zone, as evidenced by his five touchdowns in 2024. Johnson should run plenty of routes this year, but his fantasy outlook on one of the league’s worst offenses is bleak. He remains a low-end TE2 for now.
  • DAL Running Back
DLLS Sports’ Clarence Hill Jr. reports Cowboys RB Jaydon Blue “got reps with the first team today for the first time” on Wednesday.
Blue has been a standout in the first week of camp, but that comes with the caveat that he was not playing with the starters for any of his reps. Getting upgraded to first-team reps is a step toward a meaningful role for the rookie. Even if he doesn’t see much work in Week 1, the good news is that he only has Miles Sanders and Javonte Williams ahead of him on the depth chart. Unless one of those two runners turns back the clock by about three years, Dallas will be in desperate need of a playmaker in their backfield once the season gets underway. Blue’s 4.38 Forty speed and excellent hands make him perfect for a change-of-pace role as a rookie.
  • Running Back
49ers worked out free agent RB Jeff Wilson Jr.
The team also brought in D’Ernest Johnson. The 49ers have Isaac Guerendo and rookie Jordan James parked behind Christian McCaffrey right now. The two workouts could be a sign that the rookie isn’t making progress, or Kyle Shanahan could just be looking for a veteran to give the team a few extra quality reps in camp. Wilson played the first four years of his career in San Francisco and was traded to Miami in the middle of his fifth year. He rushed 16 times for 57 yards in 2024.
  • WAS Tackle
Commadners signed OT Lucas Niang, formerly of the Chiefs.
Niang last started an NFL game in 2021. He did, however, play plenty of special teams snaps for the Chiefs during their consecutive Super Bowl runs in 2022 and 2023. The Chiefs cut him at the end of training camp last year. He will be a depth piece for the Commanders if he makes their roster.
  • BAL Tight End #80
Ravens coach John Harbaugh said TE Isaiah Likely (foot) will undergo surgery and has a chance to be ready for Week 1.
Harbaugh also confirmed the prior reporting that stated Likely is expected to miss about six weeks. That timeline would have Likely returning after Week 1, though it’s too early to tell if he will be available for Baltimore’s opener or not. Either way, the injury should help Mark Andrews sustain his TE1 numbers into the start of his eighth season. Andrews’ role declined in 2024, but he offset the downturn in volume with touchdown proudction. Andrews led Baltimore with 11 receiving scores. He remains a high-end TE1 for the upcoming season, though Likely’s eventual return could hurt him down the stretch.
  • BAL Wide Receiver #4
Zay Flowers did not practice Wednesday.
Head coach John Harbaugh told reporters Flowers is expected to be back in a few days but didn’t give any details on the nature of the injury. The Baltimore Banner’s Jonas Shaffer noted that Flowers seemed to be dealing with a leg issue at the end of Tuesday’s practice. Flowers didn’t participate in team drills at the end of the session and then missed all of Wednesday’s practice. It’s likely a precautionary absence, but one worth keeping an eye on for now. Second-year wideout DeVontez Walker has reportedly shown well in the first week of camp. He could move up in the pecking order for routes while Flowers is sidelined, giving him some extra run with the ones.
  • BUF Cornerback
NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reports Bills CB Maxwell Hairston is considered week-to-week after suffering a sprained knee.
Hairston went down with a non-contact knee injury on Tuesday. He walked off under his own power but left with the team’s trainer and did not return, leading many to believe he suffered a major injury. Hairston is still going to be out for a few weeks, but the rookie avoided a worst-case scenario outcome to say the least. The missed practice time will likely prevent Hairston from making any push for a starting role out of the gates, though that was always an unlikely outcome.
  • CIN Defensive End #91
NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reports Bengals EDGE Trey Hendrickson “plans to stay engaged in meetings and around the team as he continues to wait for a new deal.”
Hendrickson abstained from training camp entirely for the first week but has since shown up. He was picking up a $50,000 fine for every practice he skipped, so the decision to return was a no-brainer. Hendrickson was still in street clothes for Wednesday’s practice and Schultz didn’t mention him participating in any activities, so we’re onto the “hold-in” phase of these contract negotiations. The hope will be that Hendrickson’s return spurs some movement in his contract talks, but all reports have indicated that the two sides are not close. It’s still possible that Hendrickson misses time during the regular season while he waits for a new deal.
  • KC Wide Receiver #1
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Xavier Worthy is in the league’s concussion protocol.
Worthy banged his head in Tuesday’s practice and left early. He will miss at least a few days while working his way through the league’s protocol, but this isn’t something that will cost him any time during the regular season. With Rashee Rice still expected to be hit with a multi-game suspension to start the year, Worthy remains in line to be the Chiefs top pass-catcher for Week 1. Hollywood Brown is also being held out of practice because of an ankle injury, clearing the way for some of Kansas City’s depth receivers to see more work with the first-team offense. Rookie Jalen Royals has already made a few splash plays in camp and could carve out a larger role if he shows up over the next week
