Bears coach Matt Eberflus said “Caleb is our starter” when asked if he would consider benching Caleb Williams.
It sure sounds like the upcoming evaluations that Eberflus is still conveniently “in the process” of as of his latest press briefing are going to be coaching-focused. Williams took nine sacks (9 sacks?) in Chicago’s Week 10 loss to the Patriots. Something has got to give. We’d be surprised if Shane Waldron saw more than another sunrise as Bears offensive play caller.
Breaking down all of Week 10’s biggest storylines, including the Jets’ deepening spiral.
  • BUF Wide Receiver #18

Amari Cooper (wrist) was limited during Wednesday’s practice.
  • BUF Tight End #86
Dalton Kincaid (knee) did not practice Wednesday.
Kincaid suffered a knee injury in the first half of the Bills’ Week 10 win against the Colts and did not return to the game. He had two catches for 24 yards before exiting. The Bills could hold him out in Week 11 against the Chiefs with the team’s bye set for Week 12. Kincaid’s injury could open up routes and targets for Dawson Knox, who becomes a streaming option if Kincaid is sidelined against KC.
  • IND Quarterback #5
Colts head coach Shane Steichen said Anthony Richardson will start in Week 11.
Richardson will get the start against the Jets after Joe Flacco fell flat on his face over the past two games, both Colts losses. Flacco over the past two weeks threw two touchdowns to four interceptions and took seven sacks. Richardson, who was benched in October after pulling himself from a game against the Texans for rest purposes, will serve as the team’s starter for the remainder of the year, according to Steichen. Richardson’s return is the end of Josh Downs’ fantasy relevance. Richardson is only startable in superflex formats.
  • NYJ Wide Receiver #17
Davante Adams (illness, wrist) did not practice Wednesday.
The Jets will rest Adams early in the week as he deals with wrist soreness and an illness. As long as Adams can get in a limited practice on Thursday and Friday, he should be good to go for Week 11 against the Colts. He’s caught 20 passes for 206 yards with one touchdown in four games with the Jets.
  • JAX Quarterback #16
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) is out for Week 11.
ESPN reports Lawrence could be back after the Jaguars’ Week 12 bye. Mac Jones will get another start, this time against an aggressive Detroit defense that should have an easy time with the miserable Jacksonville offense. Jones in Week 10 against the Vikings threw for 111 scoreless yards and two interceptions. He had the third lowest drop back EPA of Week 10. Jones probably shouldn’t even be used in superflex formats against Detroit this week. With Jones under center, Brian Thomas is little more than a desperation flex option. Evan Engram remains a top-12 tight end.
  • FA Guard #64
    Bears released RG Nate Davis.
The Bears cut bait with Davis after signing him last offseason to a three-year deal worth up to $30 million, with $17 million guaranteed. Davis is one of several Bears offensive linemen who have underperformed in a reeling Chicago offense that recently saw OC Shane Waldron fired. Davis played five games in 2024 and was graded by Pro Football Focus as the league’s 79th best pass blocking lineman. He allowed one sack and five hurries over five games. Davis will likely land on another roster sooner rather than later. A team would have to pick up nearly $4 million in contract guarantees if they sign Davis this season.
  • CAR Running Back #6
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports RB Miles Sanders (ankle) is considered day to day.
Sanders was carted off in Week 10 against the Giants, but his ankle injury doesn’t appear to be of the season-ending variety. Rapoport said the team believes Sanders, the team’s No. 2 back behind Chuba Hubbard, could “miss a little time.” Look for Jonathon Brooks to take on RB2 duties in Week 11 with Sanders out, while Hubbard remains the lead back in the run-first Carolina offense.
  • SF Running Back #32
49ers signed RB Patrick Taylor Jr. to the team’s practice squad.
Taylor was released last week with Christian McCaffrey returning in Week 10. He now returns to the 49ers, having registered seven carries for 25 yards and one catch for 12 yards in eight games for the team this season. In a corresponding move, RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn was released from the practice squad.
  • SF Cornerback #2
49ers signed CB Deommodore Lenoir to a five-year, $92 million extension.
The 49ers are re-signing one of their starting cornerbacks, giving Lenoir a five-year deal through 2029. The 25-year-old was originally a fifth-round pick and in the midst of a contract year. He started every game for the 49ers over each of the last two seasons, snagging five interceptions and logging 16 passes defended over 26 games in that time. Lenoir is one of the 49ers’ best defensive players and the team locks him up before he hit the open market.
  • NYJ Center #61
Jets claimed OL Connor McGovern off waivers.
McGovern was last on the Saints, spending a month in New Orleans after the team signed him off the Jets’ practice squad. He is a nine-year veteran who spent 2020-2023 on the Jets. McGovern now returns to provide depth to the Jets’ interior offensive line.
