Raiders HC Antonio Pierce said the offensive play-calling “has to get better,” but that he is comfortable with OC Luke Getsy calling plays.
Getsy’s questionable play-calling while with the Bears led to his dismissal after the 2023 season. It’s no surprise to see him struggling with the Raiders’ and their less-talented roster and assortment of quarterbacks. The Raiders rank 26th in the league in points per game (18.0) and have scored 20 or more points in just one of their last four games. They also rank dead last in EPA per play (-0.190) and are 24th in offensive success rate. There’s no telling how long Getsy’s leash could be at this point, but with half the season still to go, a change could be in order for the 2-6 Raiders, who will face the Bengals in Week 9.
  • PHI Wide Receiver #11

Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane reports A.J. Brown “isn’t expected to miss a significant amount of time.”
Brown had an MRI this afternoon but this matches the tenor of a morning report from Jordan Schultz that Brown is expected to be fine. How fine that “fine” is, whether it’s a couple days off in practice or potentially missing Week 10 against the Cowboys, remains up in the air. Brown appears to have avoided anything super serious though, so that’s a sigh of relief for fantasy managers.
  • ATL Wide Receiver #5
Falcons HC Raheem Morris said Drake London is day-to-day with a hip pointer.
Whatever concerns there were over London’s hip injury can seemingly be laid to rest. This news comes after the team announced they would conduct additional tests on London’s hip to determine the extent of his injury, which means he should have a realistic chance to suit up in Week 10 against the Saints. We’ll see what the team reveals when it releases its first injury report on Wednesday, but this is about the best news London and his fantasy managers could have hoped for.
  • MIN Running Back #27
Cam Akers rushed six times for 46 yards in Minnesota’s Week 9 win over the Colts.
Akers appears to have staged a takeover of Ty Chandler’s backup role, with Chandler not seeing a single offensive snap to Akers’ 16. Aaron Jones is always banged up and has dealt with a hip injury multiple times this year. Does this mean that Akers is one wrong Jones turn away from real fantasy value in the Kevin O’Connell offense? It sure seems like he’d at least be the main back on running downs in a committee. He’s a deep-league speculative pickup.
  • CAR Wide Receiver #19
Adam Thielen (hamstring) told reporters he’s “still not sure” if he’ll be ready to play in Carolina’s Week 10 game versus the Giants.
Thielen’s 21-day practice window was activated on October 23rd, so the Panthers have until November 13th to officially activate him. He was questionable this past week, with Dave Canales saying that he would not play on Friday. It’s also possible that Thielen could be traded before the deadline. Life offers you many different Adam Thielen possibilities sometimes. As of now, it would seem he’s unlikely to be ready against the Giants in Germany.
  • HOU Wide Receiver #12
Texans HC DeMeco Ryans said the team “will continue to evaluate” Nico Collins (hamstring) throughout the week.
There’s some hope that Collins will be able to return for Week 10’s game against the Lions, but it doesn’t sound like Ryans is ready to fully commit to that idea. The second-year head coach said Collins is reaching speeds up to 20 miles per hour in training, which is encouraging, but added the team will “see where he is” in his recovery as the week progresses. Collins will be in line for a hefty target share whenever he returns to the field and would be a solid WR1 in Week 10 if active.
  • LAR Tackle #79
Rams coach Sean McVay said OT Rob Havenstein (ankle) will miss Week 10’s game against the Dolphins.
McVay said he didn’t think it was an “IR thing,” but Havenstein already missed Week 1 with an ankle issue earlier this year. Warren McClendon played in Havenstein’s place after he left Week 9’s game and will presumably fill in for him in Week 10 as well.
  • DAL EDGE #11
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Micah Parsons (ankle) “should be back” for Sunday’s game against the Eagles.
Parsons has missed the Cowboys’ last four games while recovering from a high-ankle sprain but appears set to return for Week 10 against the Eagles. This announcement comes just hours after it was revealed Dak Prescott (hamstring) would miss several weeks, which could make things tough for the 3-5 Cowboys. Parsons has totaled 14 tackles and one sack in the four games he’s appeared in this season. The Cowboys are currently allowing the second-most points per game (28.1) and the sixth-most yards per game (364.8), so Parsons’ return will be a welcomed one as Dallas looks to save its season.
  • NO Quarterback #4
Saints interim coach Darren Rizzi said Derek Carr “is going to be the quarterback on Sunday.”
He added “I’m not going down that road.” Rizzi will have to leave that road for Michael Thomas on X: The Everything App. Carr will remain an uninspiring fantasy QB2 against the Falcons in Week 10, but at least he won’t be Spencer Rattler.
  • ATL Defensive Tackle #97
Falcons DT Grady Jarrett (Achilles) told reporters he was “day to day.”
Jarrett noted that the “tendon looked good” in his MRI and that he’s positive about his recovery. We’d expect a missed practice or two this week, but perhaps this will just be a minor injury for the Falcons’ longest-tenured defender.
  • MIN Kicker #16
Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell said Will Reichard (quad) is “being evaluated.”
It’s possible the Vikings will need to bring in a new kicker this week as Reichard missed multiple kicks against the Colts and was clearly in pain after he followed through for much of the night. The Vikings are also placing snapper of snaps longer than normal snaps Andrew DePaoloa on injured reserve with a hand injury.
